Hi,
So I myself was interested in generating a custom Bitcoin address for myself, beginning in 1Fish78. I managed to do this with help from some members on the forum. Now through my own light research, I know how I can generate addresses for other users without ever knowing their private key - so even though I generate your address, I will never know your private key and therefore I will not be able to access your coins. You can do this yourself, but my service just gives it to you for pennies, securely.

Cost of service is 0.001 for any address, not case sensitive, up to 7 characters long (including the compulsory 1 at the start of each address - so you choose up to 6 characters). Yes, ~$0.40 for a custom address!
Optionally I charge 0.002 for a case sensitive address. This means when asking for "1Fish", you will get "1Fish". With the cheaper non-case-sensitive address (0.001 BTC), you'll get something like "1fISh".

I can create addresses with more characters if you wish, PM me for details. I am currently happy to use an escrow, but will happily just take direct payment to: 1FTua17f5hJvF2kTBbzUE2NsYo1eEQ3wFg

Once You Have Purchased
1) Go to https://www.bitaddress.org/ and generate an address. Bookmark the page once the address is generated.
2) Click "Vanity Wallet" and click the "Generate your Step1 Key Pair" button. PM me the "Step 1 Public Key" (and the prefix you would like) and save the "Step 1 Private Key" in a text file on your computer. DO NOT LOSE IT.
3) Give me time. Generating these can sometimes take hours.
4) I will PM you with a partial private key (this is partial, I need the whole thing to access your coins - don't worry). Go back to the bookmarked page and go to the "Vanity Address" tab. Paste the private key you saved earlier into the "Enter Your Part Private Key" field and paste the partial private key into the "Enter Pool Part Private Key (from Vanity Pool):" field. Click "Calculate vanity wallet" and you're done!
5) Now simply take the private key generated and import it into a Bitcoin wallet of your choice! You generate the private key, not me (I just do the working out) - so I can guarantee I do not have access to your new wallet!

Lol, Fishbones!
U copied all that from shorena's thread and made your own thread.

Do u have special equipment for this, or are you just doing this on you laptop/computer?
When u do it on a computer, u will burn up your cpu/gpu.

Yes this is the same service Shorena offers. I believe Shorena's service is cheaper for some addresses (especially case sensitive). However Shorena conceals some of the method, so I had to research around a bit to see how I could also offer this service. Yes I understand regularly cooled computers are not designed for mining and address finding, thanks for the advice!

Yes. Please follow the steps and PM me Smiley

There is no special equipment. Users usually generate vanity address on their own computer using GPU.

Btw OP, the letter l and uppercase O are not allowed. You should change the example.

Thank you, good advice. I knew l was not allowed (but completely forgot in the example) but didn't know about the uppercase O. Will change the example now, thank you very much.

Yes, there are some special equipment for it. I know some people that have hardware that have a super fast bitcoin vanity address generating time.
So the wanted address is likely to appear much faster then when u use a normal pc.

High end GPUs, if that is what you mean. There is no ASICs/FPGA that is designed for vanity or at the very least faster than a GPU (in FPGA's case).

I did not know that, I thought it was possible though.
So asics are purely for mining and can't be used for other purposes then mining?

I thought that they atleast could do something with your own computer, but apparantly not. My pc is way too slow to get a vanity address, I have a the shittiest card that exists Sad

BTW, do u know how much $ a good gpu would cost? That is able to mine litecoins or altcoins?

Bitcoin ASICs are specifically designed for mining SHA256D coins. You cannot repurpose it for something else. An ASIC could be designed to generate vanity addresses however.

I would say a relatively good valued card would be R9 290. I haven't actually tested it out however, 280X comes close to GTX970 so I would guess 290 would be slightly faster than 970 at the same price range. r9 290 should be around $300 USD.

How much would my hashrate be if I run that r9 290 24/7?
And can I just implement that gpu in my computer, or do I need to upgrade the rest also?

I am not willing to take 8 characters for a vouch as they take much longer to generate, although I will generate 8 characters for a price Smiley Please choose something 1 character shorter for the vouch. Please read the original post for character length guidelines Smiley
