It's definitely good news , If just other services like Coinbase etc ... do the same thing . If they actually care about the future of Bitcoin as they claim more then about the money they get then they will definitely do that .

CoinKite lost the competition to be a bitcoin bank. CoinBase is leading it. Survival of the fittest.

Coinkite didn't lose anything , Coinkite finally understood what Bitcoin really is .
Unlike other services who just want to earn money and don't really care about Bitcoin , I mean what happened to "Be your own bank" "Decentralization" "no use of third party services" when you don't even control your private keys in services like Coinbase ?

Still don't know why people continue to use Coinbase. Yes they are insured against hacking so your coins are safe but they are against everything that bitcoin was intended to be.

If you have half a brain you can secure your own coins & be in sole control of them.

'Time to be your own bank'.

Maybe they are closing but Today i have seen that they have started a new project offering hardware (physical) wallet called opendime, as can be seen here: http://opendime.com/ I noticed it by the end of the page it is mentioned "Made with ♥ by Coinkite"

For spendable amount I will go with coinbase due to the simplicity and it's function but for storing lot of bitcoin coinbase may be a bad way to storing your bitcoin, as we know that we don't have ultimate controll over our private key, for big amount I think I will never stored them on coinbase anyways coinkite has did a great job

I just got an email from them a few hours ago informing me to withdraw my funds... I feel a little bit bummed because I have been using the Coinkite web wallet for a few months and it started to grow on me. Coinkite has some unique features not present on any other web wallet I have tried. Well I guess I need to choose a new wallet soon.
