thanks in advance

thnx for the replies guys If you don't have an asic don't mine, it is a waste of money and time
how about pool mining? i dont like the idea of those ASIC. they delayed their shippment for like 4-5 months now.... and as soon as the first batch of the 30K ASIC will hit the market it will be +/- over for the home/regular miner..... the difficulty level will jump so fast.... its a shame.

Basically you don't like them because you can no more become rich with your computer?

How can buying a 149$ jalapeno a "rich game"? The problem is that you no more can "become rich" with your computer and you can't be bothered to actually invest something.

BFL has multiple price points even as low as $150. Avalon's has just a single unit but $1,500 is hardly "rich man" territory. Honestly there is enough demand that both companies could have made the smallest unit 250 GH/s for $8K or so. That would have been more of a barrier to entry for smaller miners. I hate to break it to you but the days of making massive amounts of coins off low end computers ended about four years ago. Today even without ASICs to make any significant amount of coins requires a significant hardware investment, a single computer with one or two GPU doesn't make much. After ASICs a small hardware investment means a small amount of coins, a large hardware investment means a larger amount of coins. Nothing really changes ... except GPU mining is dead just like GPU mining killed CPU mining. To answer you original question. If you have 5 computers you make 5 workers in your account at the pool. You then setup your miner on each computer to use one of the five workers. All the hashes (and profits) will flow into a single pool account.

I'll add that i am very happy that finally ASICs arrived, finally this "omg i can become rich with my computer" thing (wich, btw, is false for at least a year or more, you can do at most like one bitcoin a month with a normal computer) will die.

im not much of an expert on this but would the $150 entry-level ASIC will be left short as soon as the 30K ASIC will arrive? and as of now, all of the models are in pre-orders (for 5 months or so) and BFL says they are all going to be shipped at the same time... so a $150 investment will be way short for mining.

Of course, what do you expect for 150$? To become rich? Bitcoin is a real thing, that's the point. Expecting quick profit is unreasonable. Mining was never meant to be very profitable, that's why there is difficulty, it act as a natural barrier, mining power increase until it stop being profitable. What to do if something is not profitable? The best decision is not to invest into it. It is not that you are forced to mine to use bitcoin after all. It is a matter of investment.

There's no point trying to learn how to GPU Mine now (other than novelty). The time would be better spent earning fiat currency and then buying bitcoin or flipping coins on the exchange.

I still think he has at least a weak... maybe two until GPUs will be worthless to miners. I mean... There are exactly 2 ASIC rigs in the wild at the moment.
