One day they want to ban in the next they want to unban it. Either way good luck enforcing the ban. If banned it might even make more people interested in it.

let them ban, bitcoin can not be hindered by one nation only, so it's pointless for them to ban it, a russia man can go in another country and acquire bitcoin easily, if the restriction are too heavy in his country
and like i said in another thread, how are they going to stop gpu mining, when it is profitable like at present?

This is like the 3rd time in a year that Russia is going to move forward with banning Bitcoin. Not possible, it is a decentralized technology and does not belong to any certain geographic area. It is global.

I love Bitcoin

I really do not understand why Russia likes to distant itself from the rest of the world. Russia is about the only country that wants to ban btc, why? I do not know. With time Russians will see the futility of this.

It's very simple to explain. Here in Russia, in the incredible imbeciles sitting government. For the most part, they take their places because they are friends \ relatives of someone from the authorities, and not because they have achieved something in their fields. Cryptocurrency, its creation, system principle, they just do not understand. But most importantly, in my opinion, they can not steal the money (interest) from the transaction, as in conventional money transfer. Another reason. They want to control everything! But cryptocurrency they can not control, and they because very rage.

It's a basic thing... Their government does not want this to be used by criminals as Russia is a country full of crime, and these government people won't be able to trace them, but to me, their government seems to be involved themselves with these criminals... Basically, they just don't want people like us to live freely as we would hide our finances from them with this...

I am strongly against banning Bitcoin in any country because we are living in a free world and there shouldn't be a restriction on what we would like to do with our money. Why couldn't Russia just legalize Bitcoin is beyond me. They will still have control over what their citizens would do with Bitcoin and pay taxes on the exchanges.

No, Russia is in the favour of bitcoin I think, They do not have announced it that they will ban bitcoin, but these news are only rumors about bitcoin by those people who want to collapse bitcoin. Sooner everyone will know that Russia, USA and China are the biggest supporters of bitcoin.

Unless they want to ban internet... most likely they will have a hard time. I heard bitcoin can even be transmitted via Short-wave radio frequency! It really can't be stopped.
