How can they Bitcoin?
i mean it's all related with internet.
so they can't ban it untill they ban internet and that's not gonna happen which i think.

They have a tool called Roskomnadzor which demands ISP's to ban sites, and they already closed a lot of Bitcoin sites. Onde day they  just might start  arresting people who got caught doing operations with BTC.

They do not get on with the ban because they do not fully understand what they are banning and do not want to limit something they may potentially use in the future. Think this is why so many Countries say these things but stand their with their thumbs up their ass.

Is someone keeps his coins in online wallet like blockchain.info and dont convert it to ruble, how will he be caught?

I don't know, probably wouldn't. But I'm sure that they will arrest some random guy soon, who just used an exchanger or smth, then make a very public process with a lot of attention from press, just to make an example and scare their population.

Old story, I remember talking about that here. It seems that Russians was serious about that when their minister spoke about it. They mention 4 years prison if I remember good.
If duma vote for this proposal I think Russian government will be first to ban bitcoins. I see Russians here, on poker, casinos, dices.. what they plan to do? I don't like this news, this is not good thing for bitcoin and for sure people there can have problem with that. To go to prison is not a little thing.
I guess we will need to wait duma to say their opinion. If this proposal enter duma at all, I hope not.

One day they want to ban in the next they want to unban it.  Either way good luck enforcing the ban.  If banned it might even make more people interested in it.
Really, it's like banning impure thoughts.  Not exactly, but both are kind of hard to enforce--but hopefully for the Russkies it won't come to that.  We need them and China to keep this sucker pumped up like a hard on.

Gotta love Russian legislation. Bitcoin was illegal in Russia in 2014. Not banning Bitcoin companies but total bitcoin usage under Russian federal law.
Then they abolished that law in 2015 because it was actually not working as people would still use Bitcoin. And now they want to ban it again? Logic.

What if they made a alt coin that was of equal value of the ruble and was created by a Russian? Then would they use that instead of attacking bitcoin? That would be an interesting scenario indeed.

and this is based on what? you can not simply arrest one just because you hate what he is doing, or we would be all in jail right now

Based on bitcoins being illegal in Russia, stop asking ridiculous questions.

stop telling bullshit, bitcoin is not illegal in russia, it is just restricted or banned, which is different, in the sense that they would confiscate it or do a fine, if they caught you, but you're not going to jail

Putin is a great player. At the suitable time just will strike another nail in the coffin of the dollar monopoly.

I think Russia doesn't like the fact that you are completely anonymous when spending bitcoins. It might promote money laundering...

I doubt the ban will work either way. There is a larger chance though that this ban will never take place.

Take for example China, the Chinese government restricts access to bitcoin, but still China is one of the largest traders and miners of bitcoin. They also make up a good portion of this forum.

it's probably linked to the fact that every single CC and ID's seller on deep web is Russian, and guess what's the only accepted payment method..
and over half of the money on alphabay and such is spent on those...

Well, as of today Russia has legally banned bitcoins. They want monopoly of currency and stuff like that, I don't think the ban will last a decade though, cryptocurrencies are the future and they can't ignore that.

If that ban happens, btc may go back to 400's or maybe can go even lower than 400$'s.

Bitcoin is highly being supported  by Russian people and if a ban comes from Russia it will deal a huge damage. Same thing goes for China.

One country bans bitcoin and we're again going 2 years back in price.

Of course bitcoin will recover from that, but every time something like that happens, it will go back and back.
