The beginning of his sporadic absences were during midterms. Final exams at most schools were last week to this week, so he should be done as of today. Just finished mine today too

(I think) he's no longer an admin not because he is untrustoworthy (I'd still trust him even though I have never done any business with him) but because he's not been very active in the past few weeks, and there's no need for inactive accounts to have admin privileges.

Since John seems to be inactive for the moment, I would suggest consulting the escrow list (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=108716.0) for other individuals willing to perform escrow services in his absence. Obviously this doesn't help for anyone who current has money on escrow with him, but should assist those looking to begin new transactions.

This, if any Staff has been, or plans to be away for a while, Theymos will take away their privileges until their return. Nothing good can come of inactive staff accounts.
