100% the music was coming from this site. Google Chrome has a little speaker icon that shows up on the tab whenever a sound is being played in that window... It was on the signup page after I had submitted my registration details.

The user interface for your site is very confusing and not self-explanatory. Where can I see my previous ticket results? How do I know when the next lottery is? There should be a dashboard that shows all of this information on one page

You can click your user name for some additional info on past tickets.
Next lottery will be drawn when a new block will be mined. This is random around every 10mins.
As to confusing overlay I'm totally agree with You.

It is based on block discovery. Check the FAQ.
Whenever a new block is mined a new set of lottery numbers is being generated
based upon that block. Its usually every 10 minutes but some times
more than one block pops up so in fact it is random.
