Hello,
I am going to build my first mining rig soon.
But before i am going to order my parts i need some questions answered and there is no better place to get them then here.

1) are this all the parts that i need for a good mining rig or did i forget something + should you recommend to change some things?
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA
CPU: AMD FX-4300, 3.8 GHz
Physical Memory: Curcial 4 GB DDR3-1600
PSU: 2x Seasonic M12II-850EVO
Hard disk: 500GB HDD
GPU: 5x XFX GPU: Radeon R9 200 Series R9 280X, 3GB DDR5, DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI-D, DVI-I, BOOST
+ a few PCI-e 1x to 16x risers + a few PCI-e 16x to 16x risers
+ 1x Add2psu Adapter

2) Is the XFX GPU Radeon R9 280x Good or should you recommend another R9 280x ? (i found this XFX for 200eu new on a website in my country)
Or should you recommend other GPU's for a better price with power supply?

3) i did some research on internet and i could see that the avg KH/s of the R9 280x is around 600 KH/s (so 0.6MH/S or is this wrong?) with the power of 400watt is this correct and will it still be profitable (i made a call to the power company today and my power costs in Belgium are daytime 0.25euro /kWH, nighttime 0.15euro /kWH?

Everything is good but you can't buy a R9 280X brand new anymore. Get the R7 370 if you pay alot for electricity and if you don't then get the R9 380.

R9 Nano is the most efficienct with electricity but its like EUR 600 and not much faster.

R9 280X uses about ~200 WATTS per card averaged out with the rest of the computer so if you pay 0.25EUR/KWH then it will cost 1.2EUR per day per card to run.

i did found the r7 370 new. so the avg speed of this one is 400 kh/s i think with 200 watt? Smiley

or should you recommend r9 380 ? ( × it would be awesome if you could tell me the stats of this one ☺☺

The R9 390 is quite good. It is also as fast as the 390x for Ethereum mining.

Does anybody know it will hash slower when the DAG file increases?

I'm guessing you're going to mine ethereum, if so you might want to have a look at this site for which speed a card will get Smiley http://62.212.74.86/~mining/list/amd/index.php?algo=eth

as long as you have more giga than the file size of the dag you're fine, better to go with 4 giga version for any gpu, and you're done

Hello!

I built also few rigs with R9 280X cards but after some research I built some rigs with R7 370 4GB cards.
Why?
R9 280X is around 200W. Makes 20Mhash.
R7 370 is 115W and makes 16 Mhash. Almost twice better power consumption. For cooling solution also.

R9 280X needs 2x PCI-e power cables. Usually 6 and 8 pin or ever 8 and 8 pin.
R7 370 needs 1x PCI-e power cable, 6 pin.

5x R9 280X draw with system 1080W power. Making 100Mhash.
6x R7 370 draw with system 780W power. Making 96 Mhash.

So - one 1000W PSU can handle with 6 cards easily. For example Corsair HX1000i.

Motherboards are Asrock BTC H81 and Asrock H81 pro G.

And last but not least - R7 370 cards are very quiet compared to R9 280X cards. Really quiet.

So - I would vote for R7 370 cards. 4GB versions. Gives 1GB more room for DAG files also. Compared to 280X 3GB memory.
I prefer Asus Strix Gaming R7 370 cards.

Best regards,
Yerba

R9 280x consums about 150 W and makes about 19MH/s. You just need to undervoltage and underclock it.

Is it necessary to go to the 8GB version ? 280x has 3 GB, but its speed dropped a lot when the DAG is just 1.3 GB.

Ok thanks for all the response i will go for the R7 370 ! Smiley

one last question, the location where i am going to put my rig hasnt the best internet speed. its only 0,5 megabyte / s over there ( this rig will be the only thing connected to the network) is this enough or much to slow .

It is more than enough. The bandwidth requirement for the mining is very small. The latency matters.

Well, it helps if You can download DAG file before letting rig to mine.
Downloading about 1,5Gb takes time with half-meg net.

Ok thank you for the response again Smiley
i will pre configure the mining rig at my house (120 megabit/s) before it will be placed on the location with the super slow internet so that will be no problem Smiley

You dont need fast internet. Your internet connection will be fine. It just sends text back and forth.

not always true, but fast internet is good for instamine, because when you instamien you need to catch block before the other, also good for downloading the client faster than other

I thought the DAG is generated locally, it is not downed from the pool. But I might be wrong, somebody can correct me.
