You should provide more information..

Are you the buyer or the seller? (Did you buy bitcoin or did you sell them?) I guess it is important to know whether you sold bitcoin and the buyer claimed their cash back or that you bought bitcoin, sent first, but never got your coins.

Either way, stay away from paypal to buy bitcoin next time. It is known that a lot of scamming happens there due to chargebacks and their stance towards bitcoin is also quite hostile.

I think that you should try again or try a bitcoin helpline. I think that paypal does not like bitcoin as it is a great rival so i am not surprised why they disagreed with you.

how a bitcoin help line can help him? no one can control paypal transactions except the paypal admins. only paypal can help him. but they don't help him because they don't want to encourage bitcoin trading, buying and selling.

I think most people filing a paypal dispute over bitcoin use some kind of trick... I think they're chosing their words very carefully not to divulge they were buying bitcoins, but vague enough so they cannot be accused of lying in case Paypal ever finds out the true nature of the trade.

Don't forget to open a thread in the scam accusation board, read the sticky about the accusation format... This way, at least you'll help the community by identifying the scammer and the scam method, and maybe your 950€ sacrifice wasn't completely in vain.

I have real difficulty in understanding why any honest person would use PayPal. Even PP itself will try to scam you, I had an ongoing dispute with them which lasted about 2 years. They lost in the end, but it wasted a lot of time, and just for a couple of hundred pounds. There are so many services available these days, that it seems silly to support a service that has such a consistently bad reputation over so many years.

Good luck, dispute with paypal over bitcoin.
Anyway, you seller or buyer?
They are more pro to buyer.

A scam will be a scam.
It won't sustain in long run, cause they can't make $ for you at all, they don't have any business model or investment plans to make money grows.
All they did is use other people's $ to pay other users, so those who earned $ is just from other victims... in short a vicious cycle.
People KNEW, but they just dump their $ in hoping for a miracle.

Maybe I have to give another example for people who can't understand.

unfortunately paypal has always been like this. even with real objects..

sell something on ebay, guy complains it doesnt work, paypal takes their money back.. even with proof it worked before you shipped it.

they really need a class action lawsuit or something.

This is really what makes paypal non convenient for other user, the charge back is being abused and we cant do anything about it.

PayPal is the worst payment system of all times. they got popular and then started to pay less and less attention to their customers and started ridiculous rules that makes it harder to use them and not get banned. there is always a lot of users having their accounts restricted simply because they received money in a short time for example.

If you were the seller and the buyer did a chargeback through their bank PayPal must have taken the funds from your account and moved it back to him. PayPal don't provide any protection for virtual intangible goods which Bitcoin inherently is so I don't think you will get anything back by opening another dispute.

I've got scammed 950 eur. Last Nov 2015. I contacted paypal but they said they do not support any transaction involving bitcoins.
What should I do?

its April 2016 why did u take so long to seek help?

also 950euros is a very big transaction to experimenting with,

was the sale for Bitcoin and was it done on Ebay,

where they a new seller?

as it stands now new sellers get funds held for 21 days

though u would really want a 100+ 100% seller to risk

950 Euros!!!

Also the seller would have to respond or the default

should be that Paypal returns the funds.

I still do not agree u should experiment 950 with new seller

and i think the holding of funds of new sellerd for EBAY

AND PAYPAL has been a PR disaster!!!!

correct they screw over loyal and long term customers

i assume their management got unfiltrated by people

trying to bring down the company,

Yes he will really not get anything no matter how many evidence he gave because paypal doesnt do bitcoin transaction and its out of their jurisdiction.
Sad but learn from experience.

Depends on your jurisduction but i think most countries have declared

it to be a tangible asset, though paypal have a defence if ur expecting

them to refund large amounts, why not do $50 at a time? the tx fee

is minimal compared to this amount.

I assume that anyone trying to pull this over paypal owns the buyer and

sellers accout,

Paypal in Nutshell : "We take your money and fuck you" Roll Eyes

Paypal has very high fees, often ban/freeze user account and terrible contact service.
Also, i heard they often ignore transaction which related to bitcoin.

most corporations use scam tactics though Paypal appears to

be trying watever it can,

every company from real estate to telecomunications

do the scam where if u cancel a contract over the phone or send

a fax etc, they will normally ignore ur request until u demand

a return fax, email or letter of the disconnection as proof,

until then they can keep charging you for the contract and

you have no defense unless u recorded your own phone call
