Raspberry Pi B, B+ and 2 used 5V 2A power supply, however they now suggest 2.5A 5V for the Raspberry Pi 3, see table below:

Raspberry Pi Model A+   700mA
Raspberry Pi Model B+   1.8A
Raspberry Pi 2 Model B   1.8A
Raspberry Pi 3 Model B   2.5A

I suspect you might be able to still use a 5V 2A power supply.

Which power charger does the raspberry pi 3 need?

You're welcome Smiley

The first package just arrived and it is awesome, thank you klintay!

Will a 2A 12V charger will eventually hurt my raspberry pi 3?

In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. details https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme --- https://tehnoetic.com/laptops --- https://store.vikings.net/x200-ryf-certfied
