Coinbase Asks Users for LinkedIn Info

Okay!  Cough-Cough-BS  I am having a hard time believing anything today.  What's worse is that some of this stuff might actually be true!  It's totally believable in some cases because so many absurd things like this are really happening.  How would having to provide LinkedIn information seem like a legitimate request?  Come on....We can do better than that, can't we?

Bad news for them after they blocked people I stopped using there wallet. With this new LinkedIn requesting they will lose more people because of privacy.

yeah that's true,coinbase always have weird problem so far,after some couple month ago people report to this forum that his wallet closed without any explanation,and then coinbase not receive any funds from gambling address,and now more problem appear. but i think this will not make people lost trust to coinbase.

Regarding Gambling it is clearly mentioned in their terms and condition that Gambling is not allowed . If they figure out that your coins are involved in Gambling activities they will simply block your account. So its time to move on desktop wallets

They are going to far into peoples privacy if anyone is using this arrive they might as well go to a decent one. Get a different wallet and adjust because at the rate coinbase is going I will expect them to ask for your PayPal Facebook and twitter forbthe protection of users.

Yup, this violates the main purpose of Bitcoin (anonymity). This can't be happening, because Coinbase is a Bitcoin company which should support the Bitcoin not ruin it.

This makes me wonder if coinbase and linkedin are in business together.  Customers that don't have a linkedin account would need to create one to satisfy this requirement.

This looks to be a good move. They can know their customers and go through their entire profile and if appropriate candidates are there. Carrier option might get availed.

This will certainly happen people uses bitcoin to be anonymous and now they want to get more information from a person who uses their services,if this continue coinbase will have no more users.

Well it looks like Coinbase are on a roll to get as much personal information as possible from their userbase. Isn't Coinbase the most popular wallet in the USA though? What are the alternatives if people are not satisfied with their policy? I have heard about Circle being mentioned a couple of times. Does anyone have any experience with them? I don't think Coinbase are that good as not to have an alternative to them.
