Discouraging people from applying is just going to make people less likely to join and with that you could discourage a great poster with high trust from applying. Exceptional (imo, I don't know yahoo's expectations, but i'll voice mine) means that your posts aren't just on topic but takes the conversation further or you have some amazing idea that you have. I'm not an exceptional poster by any means, but that's my idea and i'm aiming for that kind of post quality in the future. Don't worry, at least try and who knows? You might be the exceptional poster he's looking for. you just gotta believe.
