I sometimes experience significant lags after sending a tx or receiving before i see ubconfirmed history entry.

Can a refresh button of some sort be added to solve this?
As a workaround, i have to basically connect to a new server to force a refresh.

Is this forum the right place for feature requests?

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

I never had any issues personally , It's the right place since it asks about Electrum but you may want to post this on Github , ThomasV don't check the forums much as far as I know .
