https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oink%27s_Pink_PalaceOink's Pink Palace (frequently stylized as OiNK) was a prominent BitTorrent tracker which operated from 2004 to 2007. Following a two-year investigation by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) and the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), the site was shut down on 23 October 2007, by British and Dutch police agencies. These music industry organisations described OiNK as an "online pirate pre-release music club", whereas former users described it as one of the world's largest and most meticulously maintained online music repositories. About a month before the shut-down, music magazine Blender elected OiNK's creator, British software engineer Alan Ellis, to their The Powergeek 25 — the Most Influential People in Online Music list. Alan Ellis was tried for conspiracy to defraud at Teesside Crown court, the first person in the UK to be prosecuted for illegal file-sharing, and found not guilty on 15 January 2010. Web address OiNK.cd or OiNK.me.uk Slogan Because 'moo' just doesn't sound right. Type of site Private BitTorrent tracker Registration Free, Invitation only Owner Alan Ellis (aka Oink) Created by Oink (Modified TBSource) Launched 30 May 2004[1] Revenue Voluntary donations Current status Tracker forcibly shut down https://torrentfreak.com/oink-admin-found-not-guilty-walks-free-100115/“21 million downloads. 600,000-plus albums. £300,000. No public good CRC’s No Researcher control Build on existing research both domestically and internationally not on new science Increase funding to CRC’s to increase critical mass Reduce centre management costs. Too much of CRC grant goes towards CRC management Ensure there is a path to market Fund bids Alan Ellis
The relevant part is the author's name, Alan Ellis. The question is who owns Panopticrypt Pty Ltd. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Steven_WrightWright was the CEO of the technology firm Hotwire Preemptive Intelligence Group (Hotwire PE), which planned to launch Denariuz Bank, the world's first Bitcoin-based bank, though it encountered regulatory difficulties with the Australian Tax Office and failed in 2014. Wright is the founder of cryptocurrency company DeMorgan Ltd., which received $54 million in tax incentives via AusIndustry. He is also the founder of the cybersecurity and computer forensics company Panopticrypt Pty Ltd. Is it possible that that's why Alan Ellis had to keep his identity a secret because he was under investigation at the time? Also, could Alan have borrowed the 21 million download figure for the maximum number of bitcoins that would eventually be created? Full disclosure: I'm currently under the weather and have been known in the past to post some crazy shit even when I'm not sick.

The right answer is no one knows.
- Newbie account, but already claims to know all about satoshi - Clearly hiding secret information - He says that no one knows, but obviously satoshi knows, which means that he is speaking for satoshi - His name is korsican-man, and Alan Ellis has been spotted on the island of Corsica - Satoshi has posted in this topic http://www.1rtr.net/regtl/corsica1.jpgpicture of Alan Ellis on Corsica Alan Ellis in Corsica. During an adventure training “expedition” to canoe around the island. In the background are Marty Lawson, Kev Haque, Ned Kelly Oggy Saunders and Kev Warcup http://www.1rtr.net/images1.htmlNed "Oggy" Saunders, abbreviated as N.S. = Nick Szabo Kev Warcup = Wei Dai (Kev and Dai both have 3 letters, Wei and Warcup both begin with W, a letter that validates in Base58 Bitcoin addresses)

I wouldn't be lives anyone's satoshi nakamoto unless they sign from an old bitcoin address. If they we're hacked/lost then I won't believe until they provide decent proof. So I highly doubt that they are satoshi nakamoto

http://niklasblog.com/?p=17471The evidence trail amounted to the easiest bust in the history of online piracy. On Tuesday, October 23, 2007, Ellis woke before dawn to prepare for another day in the IT pit at the chemical company in downtown Middlesbrough. He took a shower in his apartment’s shared bathroom, then returned to his bedroom, where his girlfriend, having spent the night, was still asleep. As he did every morning, he logged into Oink as administrator, checked the server logs, and read the overnight messages from his deputized lieutenants. Then the door slammed open and a dozen police officers swarmed into his room. All ten of Ellis’ bank accounts were frozen simultaneously. Across the country in Manchester, his father was inexplicably arrested as well, and charged with money laundering. Alan Ellis’ home computer was seized as evidence. So were the Holland servers, which contained the IP and email addresses of all 180,000 Oink members. Unlike the Pirate Bay administrators, Ellis had not planned for this contingency, and the torrents Oink served went dark. Alan Ellis decided then and there that a new money system had to be created based on his P2P music thingy where moneys would never be confiscated ever again.

Why does it matter who Satoshi is? Can't people respect his decision to step away from the coin and stay anonymous?

no rules against it,if satoshi stay anonymous it's good, and if satoshi had been revealed,it's just happen,it'll give an affect to the market whether the price go down or rising who know, and why we're using bitcoin when we don't know the creator?

I dont believe he is, and to be honest i would rather that the creator is never found. It could take attention away from bitcoin and even destroy it if it came out that the creator was a criminal or even worse a pedo or sumthin...... i am putting my money on it being the craig wright, but as i said i would rather not know.

satoshi was one of the cypherpunks probably at least 3 of them were involved: Satoshi Nakamoto (was very familiar with HashCash and chose it as the basis of BitCoin) Hal Finney (early development partner of SN) Nick Szabo (text analysis of Bitcoin white paper leads to him, probably rewrote the white paper because the first published version was different and doesn't exist anymore)

To be honest I don't give damn who Satoshi is or was. He/they was/were the creator of that beautiful technology and now others continue to build it. That's all what counts, ongoing development and progress.

Every now and then there's a thread about possible Satoshi, and my question is always the same ; what does it matter ? Even if u find him(or her, you never know ) - what then ? It's obvious that the only thing creator wants is not to be known, so i think we should respect that.

Sounds like we have another candidate for Satoshi's real identity.
Maybe all these people are part of the group called Satoshi Nakamoto? They are all Satoshis.
