There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

The Ref 7970 got the turbo fan, it is very noisy. The 380 is also a 4GB card, so it might  be useful in the future.

Since you are spending in the range anyways. I recommend you get 2 of the cards below. 2x crossfire will perform much better then 4x, and these cards are beasts. Good luck!

I've added a domain for it from the first week it went online :p

www.mininghwcomparison.com :p

But i'm happy it's being used Smiley

Since were on the topic of power and the 380...has anyone tried to under volt this with stock settings?  What type of power drawl do you get with a under volt?  Dropping some watts off of course means cooling operation and more profit per card.  I do this to my 7950's and it made a huge difference

ASIC Wannabe

how does the Sapphire Nitro compare with the ASUS Strix? They are both available for slightly less than $300 CAD and are about evenly specced.
Based on looks alone, i would go with the strix. But hashrate and fan noise are also factors

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!

is that consumption correct, or it is for gaming, that review is not for mining, they consume more for mining

If you treat the mining as hobby, then it is OK to mine and keep on ordering new graphics cards. The difficulty is rising fast.

The performance of Ethereum mining with 970 will reduce a lot when the DAG file size is larger than 2GB. But Ethereum will convert to PoS early next year.
