Anyone know when retailers are getting these back in stock?  I placed an order on Amazon a few weeks ago (Sapphire), and the estimate is June 20 to July 7th.  I noticed at the time, new orders were given an estimate of "1 to 2 months" and currently that has been changed to "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock."
So have you checked back with your retailer lately to see when these are coming back?

UPDATE June 10th:
Amazon canceled all my backordered Sapphire 6990s.  Here's their email:

"Hello,

Due to a lack of availability from our suppliers, we will not be able to obtain the following item(s) from your order:

   "Sapphire Radeon HD 6990 4GB DDR5 DVI-I/QUAD MINI DP PCI-Express Graphics Card 100310SR"
  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004R1Q4VW

We've cancelled the item(s) and apologize for the inconvenience."

The 6990 was more of a marketing ploy than a serious money making venture. I'm sure AMD was surprised at how popular it was, and is deciding whether or not to continue producing them. I wouldn't expect them to be in a huge hurry though. The rarity of the card lends it cache, and that's part of what they want to maintain.

My local retailer expects a batch of Gigabyte units in tomorrow but has enough orders to fill the incoming shipment. They are Apairently still getting stock from Gigabyte but they have no idea when other brands (XFX, Sapphire) will be in if at all.

You know what? They aren't out of stock when you know the right people.

I bought 8 of them today for 410€ each. It's great to have friends with connections in sales Wink

"Usually ships within 1 to 4 weeks."
That means out of stock.

MAybe you misread my post. The only thing I said was in stock was the 5970.  I said Amazon had the 6990's for a while.

I cancelled my order of 4x6990s just yesterday.

The e-tailer will remain unnamed to protect my anonymity (since it's likely that my order was some of their last stock, and I'm probably the only person sending them back lol)

But I will hint that they're well known and easily found through google shopping results for "HD 6990."

So keep an eye out for at least a set of 4 coming in stock with a mojor etailer soon or already sold. Cheesy

Best of luck! (or congrats if you got them already.)
