Dear Poloniex,

You are becoming the goto exchange for altcoins and have been increasing in trading volume day by day.  I have but one request...  Learn from the hard lessons and mistakes done by MtGox and Cryptsy.  Please minimize your greed and maximize offering the best service you can for your customers.  I, personally, would really hate to see your exchange take the route of MtGox and Cryptsy.

If Poloniex got goxxed, it would be a HUGE blow to the community and reinforce a negative outlook on cryptocurrencies.
Nah that'd be like fiat getting a bad name because bank X failed.  Bitcoin is resilient and has survived Gox, Cryptsy and many other scams.

OP is there any reason in particular you're writing this?

Ty and gl.

Tokeweed

They ended up *slightly* more popular after Cryptsy.. this had nothing to do with them doing a good job.
This created a recent spike in activity but still in a downward trend from DECEMBER 2013
The public is not clamoring for shit coins and flooding in here..
Like they ACTUALLY DID in late 2013.. get it?

Learn from Lessons?
They have no integrity so what the fuck do you expect?
Their behavior and ongoing commentary on Chat shows this.
Then how they have run the exchange has shown this.

By your account they should keep adding scammy Ponzi coins..
Just don't run off with our money.

For fuck sakes they added BlockNET ROFL  Cheesy

OP i think you are a greedy brain damaged twat who LOVES to prance around here as Mr. legit.
When in reality you are 101% just like every other shallow useless greedy shit coin shill.

So OP why is it you started shilling / defending ETH creating topics JUST BEFORE the mass hype started?
And why was it you did a massive disappearing act until the hype died down?

Further more you SHOULD know this topic belongs in service discussion.
I would not say anything if it was a warning about hacks going down etc.
But it's just a garbage topic on how Poloniex is so awesome
and how you hope they are different.

NEWS FLASH: THEY ARE NOT.

I lost count how many times i have lost respect for them after giving them sooo many chances.

Say what you will about Cryptsy but they demonstrated a solid effort to not jump on
ever scammy shit coin IPO scam that came along.. unlike Poloniex and Bittrex.

Your head bobbing up & down sucking them off is hilarious.. Mr. Clever little ETH shill.

@OP
- Fuck you.
- Fuck your little shit coin supporters.
- Fuck your shit coin exchange.

Get the fuck out of MY Altcoin scene.. YOU'RE FIRED GREEDIOT !

Good luck with the brain dead IPO shitcoin idiocy my little 2 faced Investards.
Go create an account about it !

Liekz OMG Doge Ethereum coin to the Moon !

I heard the same sleazy idiots across the entire fucking internet chanting..
Doge was going to over take Bitcoins market cap and be the no. 1 coin soon.. so BUY BUY BUY.
I heard variations on that EVERY WHERE.. (sound familiar ETH shills?)
Where did they go?

Hide ..new account ..hype new shitcoin

rinse & repeat.

profit $$$

EDIT:
OP i had caught you popping over to the Cryptsy IRC during the hack announcement.
using a dummy name of course.. DEFEND them then when your proven WRONG.. talk shit.
Then jump to a new exchange and pretend nothing happened.
During all of that cry FUD as hard as you can LOL

FUD first & ask questions later™

In the Changing of the FEE News @ Poloniex Exchange
Starts March 20th, 2016
https://poloniex.com/fees/

Quote
Every 24 hours, we will calculate the last 30 days of trading volume on your account and dynamically adjust your fees according to the following schedule:
Maker    Taker    Trade Volume (trailing 30 day avg)
0.15%    0.25%    < 600 BTC
0.14%    0.24%    = 600 BTC
0.12%    0.22%    = 1,200 BTC
0.10%    0.20%    = 2,400 BTC
0.08%    0.16%    = 6,000 BTC
0.05%    0.14%    = 12,000 BTC
0.02%    0.12%    = 18,000 BTC
0.00%    0.10%    = 24,000 BTC

OK, which one of you guys is spending 24,000 btc a month?   Wink

Back to Sanity, I don't know why but it seems like everytime these exchanges get into trouble behind the scenes, they start changing their fee structure.  Could just be a coincidence , but a friendly reminder on Poloniex .

Never Leave more coins sitting on an exchange than what you are willing to Lose!!!

Cryptsy changed their Fee structure to favor traders and in less than 6 months they were done , and now Poloniex is doing something similar.   Tongue

Starting the 6 month timer.

Funds missing on Bittrex ,  No speculation there.  Tongue
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1423584.0

Reason so much speculation on Poloniex is that they seem to be a mimic of Cryptsy six months before their crash.
(When everyone thought everthing was wonderful , with high trading volume and the fact coins sold for more on cryptsy than other exchanges)
(Turned out they were pulling a fractional reserve on everyone and lying thru their teeth.)

I mean if everything was really great , why the fee change to try and entice the uber rich to trade there , by almost making it free for them.
* This means they will actually make less money in the long run.*  (Just something to think about) Wink
With Cryptsy gone, Poloniex became the top US Exchange, because very few like Delistrex, there was no need for a fee change, ( unless you believe the top exec thought to himself , we are making too much money, better make it cheaper for the rich to trade here.)  Tongue

As with all exchanges whether you believe their foundation is solid or not,
Never Leave more Coins sitting than what you are willing to Lose!

Or when a company all of a sudden starts slashing prices, you have to ask yourself: "Why?" It may mean that the company is in a big rush to increase sales volume and get more cash into the business– regardless of potentially detrimental impact of such a move long term impact on profits or its brand. A desperate grab for cash – also witnessed when companies suddenly start selling off core business assets – could be a sign that suppliers or lenders are banging at the door.

FYI2:
Plus we have no way of knowing if all of that Volume is truly from traders or if Poloniex is just artificially trading to pump their volume with automated trading.
Watch their https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_eth  market , it is nothing but a computer trading.

So Poloniex adds a feature that major exchanges around the world has and all of a sudden you are running for the hills.  Do you want them to not progress at all?  Maybe go back to keeping a paper and pen ledger of transactions?  FYI#1 Answer: To evolve into a real exchange.   FYI#2: Yes, I believe there is a lot of low fee trading inflating the #s but they also have margin trading which draws customers.

Cryptsy was already losing customers long before their issues.  Poloniex didn't pick up steam until they were the first exchange to launch Etherium and they added margin trading.  Really had nothing to do with people not liking another exchange.  They just had a coin people wanted and advanced features for trading.

Really, I mentioned no feature change the Fee changes is where the danger lies or do you believe the rich traders should never have to pay?
(You should reread My earlier Post , your Reading Comprehension skills are lacking.)

But since you mention Margin Trading, only suckers or insiders use Margin trading,
suckers cause they don't know the exchange is getting ready to move the coin or stock and make them lose money
and
Insiders that know exactly where the coin or stock will be positioned, Guaranteed money for the Corrupt.

It is always funny when a guy registered, for less than 12 hours claims they remember exactly the way things were.

There it is, bring out the old post count to try and prove you are superior.  I've been around a long time that's all you need to know.

Do you want to compare BTC wallets next or would you rather drop your overhauls? or maybe you got gox'd and are still a bitter bear.

Btw, margin trading is something all major exchanges have and poloniex may just be trying to bring crypto full circle with what traders exepect.  If you don't understand any of it, maybe you shouldn't be trading.  Sounds like you shouldn't be, because you seem to be unable to grasp the fact that exchanges are trying to mature.

Good day sir.

Margin trading is for insiders and suckers.

But if you have a short position, there’s no limit to how much money you can lose if the shares rise. If the share price increases soon after you place a short position, you could quickly “cover” by buying back the shares and returning them to the investor you borrowed them from. If you’re lucky, you might not lose very much.

But an investor named Joe Campbell was not so lucky when he placed a $37,000 short position on KaloBios Pharmaceuticals Inc. US:KBIO  earlier this month, only to find out a day later that the shares had shot up about 800% after Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shkreli gained control of a majority of KaloBios’ shares.

Their is still ~162 days left on the Timer, before the answer will be known to all.  Wink

Poloniex, will stay around as long as they don't keep hiring a shit load of people and get ripped off. Also most people don't get it even tho most crypto coins are crap if people are buying the hardware to mine them they are worth something it's the same for anything people buy/sell make ect..

And there are still crypto coins that people love as such, XMR, ETH, DASH, and others I'm not going to write out all of them and the good thing about crypto if they make it even a few of them price of BTC goes up its like cash/ fiat in other countries. BTC is gold then other coins are platinum silver and so on.

But as always these places are usually off shore or not in a place where they have to keep ledgers and such so be careful it's always better to trade face2face or use an escrow as always.

I love words of wisdome in dark times, this can calm us and reduce damage, if everybody start panicking at the moment they could cause crash..Even Price will fall..
so relax a bit.
