I appreciate the big money has gone from Ethereum mining, but I can see profit is there to be made in the short term.

Now, I can start the GPU rig back up, plus buy few more GPUs whilst I'm at it, but is it worth it post Ethereum?

I REALLY enjoyed GPU mining back in the day and would like to get back into it, is there anyone that has been doing it since and profited?

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

I have made some profit from Ethereum mining, but it becomes less profitable day after day now.

fire it up i say!
this weekend, i'm doing the same thing with an old rig and a couple of newer gpus.
for now ethereum still pays something like $0.18 per mhs/day
if you have relatively cheap electricity and efficient gpus you can still profit quite well!

decred is also not paying half bad;
sth like 65% of what you can get from ethereum; incase ethereum goes pos or bust it can serve as a plan b;

I would mine with what youve got, and maybe buy another one or two cheap GPU's if you can find any.

As far as spending lots of money on GPU's now its a bit of a risk.

I have been mining my old rigs on and off as there have been a few coins that were ok.

There will be another coin to mine with GPU's at some point, but it might be a while before that happens.

you can always sell your gpu easily on ebay or forum or whatever you want, i would not invest very big, but few gpu are always safe they have a great resell value

I usually buy the second tier GPU to mine. That is the best value. I can also sell them after I finish using them.

I've been crunching BOINC projects for a few years now and am being rewarded by Gridcoin for my computation.
It's pretty neat contributing towards scientific research instead of wasting electricity on hashing. POW feels like spraying aerosol cans outside.

I plan to start building future cruncher rigs that will point at folding@home (and generate some minimal income via the foldingcoin thing).

 Similar idea.

Those scientific operation is just for the spare computing power. There is no need to build rigs for that specifically.

Sure there is.

 The thrill of competition!

 (I'm already active in the distributed.net RC5 project and GIMPS, wanted something else to hit top 1000 producer in that matters).

 And yes, my next gaming rig (just ordered the parts this morning) will be doing all 3 in it's spare cycles.
