I generally don't store in personal wallet. Instead use exchanges to earn huge apy. You can also store lockup procedure if u are willing to lock for many days.
That's one advantage of using it if you're wanting to earn some interest through exchanges. But to say that you don't use a personal wallet for storing your crypto, I think you have to rethink it.
Just remember that there were exchanges that have been hacked in the past and not all of them were able to fully refund or at least give a little portion from the principal amount that they've deposited. Remember that "not your keys, not your coins".

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I recommend the Trezor wallet. I'm also using it. But remember your private key, and don't let anyone know.

Bitcoin wallet stores a collection of bitcoin private keys. Typically, the wallet is password- or otherwise protected from unauthorized access. A Bitcoin wallet is controlled solely by its owner, not distributed and shared like blockchain technology.

Coinbase: Good Overall. Though sometimes they freeze account.
Trezor: Best for Hardware Wallet for Security. I'm personally use it.
Ledger: Best Hardware Wallet for Durability.
SoFi: Best for Beginners.
Robinhood: Best for Free Buying and Selling.
Mycelium: Best for Mobile Users.
Now it's your choice.
Exodus: Best for Desktop.

Robinhood: Best for Free Buying and Selling.
As you have said, robinhood is for buying and selling. They're not for keeps. You used exchanges to buy but you don't use them to keep or for long term storing of your crypto assets.
You use them and keep some of your assets there if you're daily using them. Other than that, you don't use them and classify as best wallet.

It’s up to you and what you’re looking for. I have been making use of some really good mobile wallets like Bitpay and Blockchain.com wallet for years now and I have not had any single issue with any of them. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t seen people complain about them. Then there is Trezor, which is a hardware wallet, and Exodus wallet which is a decentralized wallet as well.

I have never had issues with these, but they are not 100% secure, you still have to play your part in making sure that you secure your assets, just because a wallet claims to be good doesn’t mean you will be careless.
