I usually support an underdog.  Say, some team like RR [Rajasthan Royals].  One time, I even supported MI because they were weak back then.  This time, I'm hoping that Chris Gayle clicks and KXIP lift the trophy.

DD is a regulation underdog, unfortunately, their performance has gone to the dogs  Wink

RCB, though a perfect fit for the title of 'underdog' with their string of failures, will never be considered as such because Virat Kohli leads that team    Grin

To be honest, Virat is shitty captain. he has been Rcb's captain since 2013 and they played only final since then. most of the time they didn't even reached playoff stage.

I support CSK.
Afterall Thala is back. #vintageDhoni is back...
After a long time, I am amazed to hear "Mahi Maar Raha Hai" from the commentators.

Congratulations to CSK on their winning the 2018 IPL!

Shekhar, you seem to be a passionate Chennai fan, so personal congratulations to you too. Always heart-warming when your team lifts the trophy.

Virat is a passionate guy, but he can't seem to get his team to perform.  MSD says his CSK coach (Fleming)  sets the strategy and he himself executes it on the ground. By that standard, either RCB's coach is not setting a proper strat, or Virat is failing at the task of executing it on the ground.

True, no amount of passion can substitute for astute captaincy skills. I suppose that's the difference between Dhoni and Kohli.   Smiley

IPL 2019, CSK vs DC:  Chennai defeated Delhi by 80 runsBTC

Skipper MS Dhoni's prowess in the slog overs was on display yet again while home spinners bamboozled the Delhi Capitals batsmen as Chennai Super Kings prevailed in the IPL battle for top spot with a thumping 80-run win on Wednesday. It was Suresh Raina who struck a fighting 59 off 37 balls to prepare the road for revival following a slow start and Dhoni (unbeaten 44 off 22) provided the late flourish, ending the innings in style with two sixes off Trent Boult. After making just 27 runs in powerplay overs, the hosts eventually put on board a fighting 179 for four and dismissed Capitals for just 99 in 16.2 over to snatch the top spot from the visitors.

https://www.agmsports24.com/2019/05/ipl-2019-50th-match-csk-vs-dc-match-highlights-and-all-videos.html

Capitals suffered a surprise batting collapse after being consistent this season. They were out of the game after losing half the batsmen by 11th over and ended up suffering their worst defeat.
It was also their lowest total of the season. Chennai Super Kings, who now sit atop the table with 18 points, are now sure to end in top two, ensuring that they will have two shots at making the summit clash.
Everything followed the script. A target of 180 was erected. So just like that, it was into Dhoni's home territory, you know, the kind he's built an alternate career out of, drying up the runs, mastering the fielding angles. And then of course his hands, those whiplash hands. May be there is something quicker than the speed of light after all.
