Post read 2 times

I have seen many a times that whenever i create a new thread it shows : Post read 2 times. How can this happen as its not possible for someone else to open this thread within a split-second. What's going on ?

Mod check? Perhaps they have a script to open new threads as they are created?

I've noticed the same thing and assumed it was a bot checking new posts.

Post read doesn't count unique views but counts every time someone view it.It simply means that if you keep refreshing page,post read counts will keep increasing.When you create a thread,you are redirected to your recently created thread which makes you view it twice

Totally ignorant on how these bots work! Do they get assigned to a site and just hang out or do they actively find things all over the net?
When I check any forum there are google bots checking stuff out. When I start threads I presumed the other person was me some how when I click post and again when it shows up,never really thought much more of it.

There goes my theory.

I always thought it was because this particular flag was enabled and hence my posts were counted twice.

You could have read it once you created and then again to recheck.
If you read your own posts, it also counts.

If I remember correctly, many admins have bots that trawl the boards looking for spam accounts and nuke them. I usually get an instant 8 views.

Maybe depending on the board, more or less mod bots are active there?
