Ask your friend.

I assume he gave you a private key.  In that case, you would need to import the private key into your wallet (if you've chosen a wallet that allows import of private keys).  To explain how to import private keys (or at least let you know if its possible), you'll need to let us know what wallet you are using.

Is there a private key on the voucher or perhaps a QR code or something?  (do not share it no matter what, btw).

yeah a QR

You may be able to scan that to get the private key and import that into a wallet.

You can sweep a private key using this guide:

http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#can-i-sweep-private-keys-from-other-bitcoin-clients

Sweeping a private key is better than importing it.
