You need to be well known.
Trusted.
Have a lot of trade history with feedback.

Not that it really matters but with your limited feeback (untrusted) 3 out of 5 are negative.

I dont think many would choose to use you over someone well established like OgNasty

There are no requirements set out by the forum but unless you've done a lot of previous trades and your name carries some weight around here then please don't bother. You'll only get negbombed and for good reason. It's a sad fact that most people who set out or want to become an escrow usually do it for the wrong reasons and end up scamming. People should really fall into escrowing naturally and a good rule of thumb is if people haven't already been asking you to escrow their transactions then you're not needed or trusted to be one. Why would you even want to be an escrow anyway? Why should anyone trust you? How do we know you're not going to run off as soon as you get an amount you like the look of? It's a hell of a lot of work and for little reward if any so I'm always sceptical of users like you who want to hold on to others money for them.

Hilarious is right when he says it just happens naturally. Once you have some rep people will just start asking you to help with trades. I closed my public escrow service down a few months back and still do several escrows per month. It sounds fun being an escrow until you start doing lots per day/week. Escrow is time consuming and pretty much a thankless job. Account trades were by far the worst part of it.

It happens when your reputation becomes worth more than the total of the amounts you are escrowing. The best way to assure that you aren't going to run off with someone's 1 BTC you are escrowing, is if you stand to lose a lot more by scamming. Thats why a lot of people who do escrow around here run successful businesses, do a lot of dealing in the marketplace, etc.

first of all, you need to have large positive reputation, or others won't trust you, because would you trust a stranger with 0 reputation?

and second yes, you have to stay away from minds like "should i scam him"?  because you have to earn money from your job not scams, 1 scam and it is over

What would you yourself want in an escrow? I'd want to see many years of track record and successful trading on here before someone even thought of becoming an escrow.

it's not even convenient to be one, the best escrow right now is working for free, so if you charge even 1% no one will use your escrow if this is your intention

Its not for everyone, plus you have to build your trust with the community on this forum to build your rep.

That alone takes awhile, so even if you did want to do it. Also people are very antsy if you do not reply in a timely fashion, and you`ll have to deal with bigger issues if fraud does occur.

As quoted to be an escrow you need to be a high ranking user with active participation in the forum. I believe to be a escrow he needs to spend maximum time in bitcoin rather than other activities. After this trust is the major requirements which is to make people believe in his service.

nah, you don't need that much online activity.
just look at the trusted escrow some of them are super active but not all of them, they just check like once a day. and you only need to receive and send on the set times and check if there is a scam going on which doesn't take that much.
the important part is the trust rate, which OP is lacking

first of all you must to understand that you have to earn money for yourself by doing your work, not scamming, because if you will scam once you will never be escrow, nobody will trust you

and second  i think it is very important for you to have good positive reputation, without it people won't want your services so your work will be useless

Basically being a escrow is more like volunteer work like a at non-profit.

Dont expect to get tipped frequently or at all and still offer the integrity for the transaction.

People who do offer 1% do get some escrows, but more people will flock towards a free service. And keep in mind this consumes most of your time, since you need to reply back to people etc.

Do I have a red trust? I can't see any in my profile, where can I see it?All I know is that I only gave ratings to some members but didn't receive any.

I can be online most of the time and even give my contact number in my profile so that I can be contacted instantly.I dont think other escrow members are convenient in disclosing their identity or leaving their contact info here.People would trust an escrow whose identity is known over the one who stay anonymous

Click the "Show untrusted feedback" link on your trust page. You should probably get more familiar with BitcoinTalk itself and how it works before trying to handle money for people. Smiley

I'd much rather trust an anonymous person here who has plenty (and by plenty, I mean a couple years worth) of experience and reputation, instead of someone with identification that could be forged/stolen. Plus, I doubt someone would go across the globe and track you down (supposing the ID was real) for a trade that was less than a couple hundred dollars.

I use an option that i don't have to click every time show untrusted feedback, you can do the same by going here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=527272;sa=forumProfile then tick "Show untrusted feedback by default:"
About the escrow i would suggest to make more deals and start offering your escrow service for small deals.

I case you don't click those link provided above let me post the negative feedback given to you by untrusted members in this forum. Your Trust score is still neutral since no negative feedback was given to you by any of the members under Default Trust.
