web: http://www.bitcoinfuturesguide.com/bitcoin-blog/media-speculation-grows-that-satoshi-will-reveal-himself-as-early-as-this-weekend-april-9-10-2016A major warning that this is likely to be total bullshit, but there's a lot of attention garnering around it, so the claims are being addressed here. There's been speculation swirling lately, recently from the Financial Times, and now The Mirror, that Craig Wright will be revealing and verifying himself to be Satoshi Nakamoto, creator of bitcoin protocol: The Mirror is just a low-tier tabloid that has published garbage anonymous false claims about ISIS holding bitcoin in the past, so they are not a credible outlet, and especially not credible on bitcoin stories. However, as the news spreads in the mainstream, and as this could be a major media event, about a story that may very well be false, it may affect the market as well. Keep in mind that volatility is at some of its lowest levels in a long time ( source): We are due for volatility in one direction of another. And if this technical fact coincides with a major media FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) bomb hits, that direction might be down. This post is not intended to alarm or anything, merely to alert that this is something the media is planning and there has been info coming out about this, which may itself affect the market. It may be a self-fulfilling prophecy by those behind it, but either way, it is something to consider while we are inevitably going to awake from this low volatility period. Happy trading.

The usual stuff... If you are Satoshi, sign a message or GTFO Most of the people think that when someone sign a message from the PGP key (mentioned that belongs to satoshi) does not prove the identity, it only proves that the person (it could be also a hacker) who signs this message has only access to the private key but does not prove the identity. P.S OP I don't think that satoshi is going to reveal himself this weekend.

Nobody signed anything from Satoshis PGP key. The keys used by Craig were backdated. The usual stuff... If you are Satoshi, sign a message or GTFO Exactly. No need to turn to the media or anyone until one does so.

He could also sign message from address received the 50 BTC in first block, unless he get some funny story why he dont have the private keys anymore, aka Craig Wright style. Its much less likely the private keys from first Satoshi wallet could be stollen - becaue there is so huge financial incentive to sell/spend so many Bitcoins from this first Satoshi wallet - the Bitcoins would move right after the Satoshi wallet was stollen!

No need to turn to the media or anyone until one does so. even if someone comes forward in the future with a legit signed message, some people can argue that satoshi's PC might be hacked. at this point not even the real satoshi will be able to prove that they are indeed satoshi without a single doubt. however they can get more credibility by continuing satoshi's own work (developing bitcoin).

Hope this turns out to be another hoax. I prefer the things as they're, as much as I would like to know who he is, him being found could turn things upside down.

Craig Wright is a flamboyant attention-seeker, and as such his personality is the precise, diametrical opposite of everything we know about Satoshi. That alone disqualifies him. Notice how he keeps teasing everyone with all these media rumors, when a simple signature would be worth infinitely more towards substantiating this claim.
His claims are garbage. Garbage.

ah great another one of these topics about satoshi. satoshi is not messiah to come back and reveal himself to the work at the times of peril lol
i don't get what is it that people don't get about the anonymity part, the whole purpose of choosing this name and not a real name and staying away is to stay anonymous for whatever reason and it is going to continue being anonymous.

People would be too paranoid when it comes to that case. Basically, the only evidence that we have as to who satoshi might be is a PGP key, Bitcoin Addresses and an email account or two (these are irrelevant as can be hacked/already are). If someone comes around and signs with either the PGP key or some of the addresses, then they most likely are satoshi. satoshi is not messiah to come back and reveal himself to the work at the times of peril lol
True. He would be at risk if he revealed himself.

Ok, Let's consider the most extreme conspiracy theory out there... Someone or a group of people, murdered him and they have his PGP key. They can easily manipulate
the markets to suit their needs, if they send out a signed message.. BUT they are not doing it. That means, nobody has his private key or his PGP key, if they got rid of him. I
think a group of people developed this and they collectively decided to keep it a secret, when Gavin ran to the NSA. Great plot for a movie.. right?

a pgp key is meaningless.. if someone did get hold of his system to get the keys. the most radical thing to do is shift the 2009 stash.. not sign a message. if your going to murder someone its better to go for their stash, rather then trying to send a message. moving the coins would cause ALOT more economic speculation then a signed message

i will never understand why all those things happens. i mean that if Mr. S.N. want to reveal himself he dont need to announce it, just do it, by pgp key, that's all. Let me bet again, this is just another false information, and let be bet again, is not the last one that we will read.

PGP is fail, moving the funds is the only thing that would matter
