Japan is always been loving Bitcoin since the day it is started. It is infact the first country who openly accepts the bitcoins and hence you can give Japan Government and people credit for this. Credit for showing faith and trust in the future biggest currency while every other country has their reservations to promote the coins.

Probably not , what happened with Mt.gox really made Japan look to Bitcoin with another way .

The old Mt Gox was based in Japan. Did it have anything to do with the Japanese people's love of innovation?

Yes we've seen this for a few weeks now.Positive news from the country of the rising sun on a regular basis.
It seems that Japan finally has overcome the Gox drama and is one of the countries moving ahead in terms of Bitcoin's acceptance.Awesome!

i remember there was a topic here a while ago talking about the Japanese thinking about announcing bitcoin officially as a currency. this might be as a result  of that. and lets not forget about the upcoming halving and the price rise.

Nice job, Japan! Hoping that most countries accept it as secondary currency. This currency could be more revolutionized, really, and for that, it needs help from developed countries.

Has anyone read this https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/feb/25/japan-to-make-bitcoin-legal-currency
Japan recognize the future of bitcoin. My country, and many other countries are centuries behind them.

If there is real interest about japan government to accept bitcoin as any other currency (as it appears on some newspapers) , could be that some investors from japan are taking positions on bitcoin investment.

So the currency which has the more trading volume is the yen ? I have to say that it is a quite surprising thing that I just discovered. I always thought that the leading currency would be the yuan.

Has Japan ever loved Bitcoin? Despite the odd business based there I was under the impression that it had never really gotten anywhere. That's a surprising volume though.

there was an article in the Guardian about the Japanese government arguing about making bitcoin a legal currency. i didn't follow up to see the result from the time i heard it 2 months ago but this might be a start for bigger things.

Could be a up tick before bitcoin gets regulated in Japan. Almost the same as Chinese money moving abroad with fear of corruption crackdown.

Asia has always been into bitcoin. More then europe and the us. what surprises me is that japan left the bitcoin scene. Since
they have been into bitcoin and the altcoins (MONA) for a long time now.
