If there is anything about bitcoin that you need help understanding this is a great place to ask questions.  If you haven't chosen a Bitcoin client yet, you'll want to take a look at Electrum, Multibit, and https://blockchain.info/wallet

Newcomers often blindly choose the Bitcoin-Qt client that is listed at bitcoin.org and then regret it later when they discover how long it takes to synchronize with the network and how much hard drive space it uses.

I'd suggest reading the scam accusations boards.It will give you an idea of some things to watch out for. Gambling tends to be interesting to as it tends to host some of the most reliable businesses.

I'll also throw this out there for if you already have some bitcoins BitBet

If you need coins though and are willing to spend some time earning a few instead of buying Rugatu is one of the better sites to get "free" coins.
