Soooo, apart from few exceptions, all major alts are losing value, but BTC is not rising significantly. What's going on? Is this due to the upcoming Halving? Some people say that at least ETH dropping is in anticipation of the Lisk launch, but that seems a little far fetched to me. What do you think?

I think lots of BTC entered Poloniex to pump ETH. After they slowly exited, they also started pumping other coins a month ago. You could see that, since all coins started raising at same time. Now are withdrawing.

"Most" is kind of an understatement… The whole market is artificial and everybody knows that. Which makes me ask: Why the dump? Who are the profiteers? Are people cashing out? And if yes: why now? |

not sure of what's going , but I agree the most with Febo the whole alts were rising the last two weeks , and bitcoiners who entered early made good profits in general Poloniex is lagging a lot today , a lot of people are online and are watching what's going bring the popcorn guys  |

Alts are dropping because of a combination of factor. This is the time of the tax season and holders will release their gain. During the past few months, many altcoins went up a lot because of hot money from Ethereum pumping up coins. Now whales are taking profit from altcoins and holding bitcoin before the halving.

maybe it is all the start of the bitcoin price rise. all those money that is coming out of these altcoins needs to go in some place else.
i am sure not all of them will go completely out and most of it will be invested in some place else.
