As long as you have your bank account verified with a provider like Coinbase etc you can send fiat from your mobile phone to your bitcoin account and then convert the fiat cash to bitcoins on the site.

As far as i know you cannot purchase bitcoins via SMS, i don't even know who that could be accomplished.

I don't think there are any options where you can buy bitcoin directly with mobile recharge.
You can exchange it to someone but directly get bitcoin by paying with mobile load it's not possible. What you can do is the opposite. You can buy mobile load with bitcoin. Cheesy

I don't think the OP was asking about buying bitcoins with a mobile recharge token.

I was under the impression that he wanted to send fiat via SMS to an exchange and receive bitcoins in return.

That's spot on! - I wish to send 'fiat' via sms to a broker/exchange and receive bitcoin in return.... I hope It's still allowed.

Base on few comments above me, there are actually few websites in which you could directly buy BTCitcoin through SMS only. IIRC most of them charge huge interest rates and won't be worth using but I'll list few down here: (note: I haven't tested any of them due to high rates, so can't tell if their all legit)

https://bit4coin.net/
https://www.bitcoin-services.co.uk/sms-to-bitcoin.php
https://www.coinbase.com/sms_service?locale=en (already mentioned by bitkilo)
http://www.btcforsms.com/ (for following countries only: Poland, Germany, Hungary, Austria)
http://bitby.co/

Perhaps coinbase would be your best choice.

First where are you located if you are from America or near by then you can go with coinbase.com site, if you are from India, then Zebpay site with this exchange you can buy directly from your mobile phone using their app installed in your mobile phone and then you are ready to do trading through zebpay exchange.

I guess all the exchanges now a days also provide mobile version of their services. So, it will not a big deal to buy bitcoin with mobile. I guess there is a signature campaign running service which is especially for buying buy/sell services for the people from India using mobile.

Thanks for all the info... It seems were I live (South Africa) the cell-phone companies hate bitcoin (for the obvious greed reason) So I'll have to find
other ways... Thankfully we have a fantastic local exchange which could be the answer to my prayers... http://bitx.co (hope this is allowed)

I wouldn't recommend coinbase. I recently tried to buy bitcoin with them, but they ate my money without processing the transaction. I've sent them an email, so hopefully they are honest and reply to my enquiry, but until then...   Undecided

This is not the first complaint I have heard about Coinbase lately but without knowing your exact situation and not using Coinbase myself its hard to help.
Hopefully they will sort it out soon for you.

I cant see them pulling an exit scam but I would still insist that once you do receive your coins take them straight off line to a paper or hardware wallet, or at the very least a wallet that you have full control over i.e. a wallet you and only you have the private keys to.

Yeah definitely. I've been moving my bitcoins to at least a desktop wallet as soon as I purchased them.

I do expect them to eventually end up either returning my money or giving me the purchased bitcoins, but the fact they could accept my money without processing the transaction is a problem in of itself.

You can buy bitcoins with sms with this method: Go to www.gamesdollars.com and get OKpay currency when pay with SMS or phone call. Then in OKpay account you can witdraw bitcoins instantly or another currency you choose. There are a few of them. I use this website for a few months now.

Why would you even do this.. this means you are paying high prices and I think paying bitcoins with your mobile/sms is just not handy and will even get you in trouble.
