Plutons are digital tokens you earn as a rebate for spending Bitcoin with the Plutus app (see it in action). Just like cash back or air miles on a credit card, the more you spend — the more you earn. You earn Plutons by topping up your contactless balance, meaning that every single purchase counts towards your total.

Its primary purpose is to circumvent the cost of fees charged by traditional payment infrastructures to users, with the added benefit of decentralisation.

Looks like yet-another-token-system trying to provide a "solution" to something that isn't even a problem. But, buzzwords and "decentralized", maaaaaan.

How is not being able to spend your Bitcoin in a familiar and simple way not a problem? There have been a lot of articles and presentations highlighting this as a major problem for Bitcoin... For example, the conclusion of Morgan Spurlocks documentary about living on Bitcoin, which aired on CNN awhile ago highlighted that the lack of ability to spend your Bitcoin at brick and mortar merchants was a major problem for Bitcoin to tackle in order for it to become more widely used and accepted by the public.
Plutus solves that problem in my opinion by making it simple for users to transact with Bitcoin at any NFC enabled terminal.

Its a "problem" that has been solved by many others without using a "tokenized" approach. There are plenty of BTC-to-Debit solutions, credit cards, you name it. Just because you have something you perceive as "novel" doesn't automatically make it so. So kindly try to restrain yourself from the needless PR you are spewing. You aren't a special snowflake saving the world.
