We're on huffingtonpost but the article is a little less flattering. Let Mark Gongolof know how uninformed he is about Bitcoin!

Go show your support for bitcoin in the comments. Thanks to Carlos for contacting business insider!
Actually, business insider contacted me.
I guess I was the first on the first page to have a visible email on profile.

Ha, I guess he wasn't interested in creating a forum account. By the way, that article got a lot of attention. Enough attention for him to write a positive follow up article on Bitpay today:

Wow, good memory! It's pretty amazing that my first big sale was a 6990 for 82 BTC and just 2 years later, a Porsche for 300 BTC.

I noticed that there were multiple offers on this Cayman.  I also have a Cayman S in Austin I'm willing to sell for Bitcoins.  It's better in some ways, not as good in others, but it is considerably cheaper and I can be flexible if you're paying in Bitcoin.

The Porsche sold today for ~300 Bitcoins! If this isn't proof that Bitcoin is a legitimate currency, then I don't know what is. The buyer purchased his initial Bitcoin investment at around $4 a piece so they got an amazing deal. I'm not sure if this is the single largest item sold for BTC, but I can guarantee it's the first $40,000 vehicle sold for ~300 BTC. The buyer wishes to remain anonymous, but I've asked a bitpay representative to come and post in this thread to confirm the transaction occurred.

bitpay representative? So you're not keeping the BTC or what?

Carlos could arguably have the best play of 2013.  Buy your 300 coins back for about $50 each.

I sold for my father through bitpay at 100% usd payout. If it were my choice, I would have taken at least a small percentage in Bitcoin. In hindsight that would have been a horrible idea. At least in the short term. I think the real story may be the other Austin Porsche seller who sold for 100 coins at around 230 a piece as an investment. If he's still holding the coins, he's probably not too happy tonight.

Personally, I think it will slowly rebound back to the $250s and beyond at some point in the future, but I would be very nervous holding 300 coins vs 39k right now.

Congrats on the sale.  I kept mentioning this sale to my friends to let them know what you can buy with BTC.  When the crash started yesterday I instantly wondered about your sale  Cheesy
