It is a CIA front group. L. Ron Hubbard had direct ties with the CIA. If you look at how Scientology operates you can see it is organized exactly like an intelligence agency collecting blackmail on all of its members and opponents.

His book has been recommended by a few people for a real interesting look at human nature and how to read people. Plan to read this book this summer and try not to join the religion in the process. Just want to see what the hype is all about.

Wasn't Scientology started by some one in Germany and Hubbard just ripped it off and put his own stamp on it? Thought that was the story line and the CIA angle I do not think was involved initially in the start, maybe later on to learn what was it called dia something.

I think that they are some strange cult that does strange things. But I don't beleive that they are connected with CIA or some other intelligence service.

Their sheer aggression in how they deal with the world is enough to make anyone run screaming no matter how legit or not their beliefs are. As for the beliefs themselves, they're no more stupid than any other religion.
It would be fun to delve into all their minds and come out knowing what proportion actually believe any of it. I assume the rest are in for power and control or simply a sense of belonging.

Religion or cult/group?
What's the difference? It's generally much more difficult to leave a cult but I believe your question is of a rhetorical nature so I won't expound.

I think I heard that the only reason it is called a religion was that they wanted non-profit status for tax purposes. It has apparently changed over time to be a "real" religion.

Isnt that pastafarianism and not scientology It's different for each country. Neither Scientology nor Pastafarianism is a recognized religion by statute in Romania.

Of course, Scientology has its own truth, as in any other sect. But this truth is drowning in lies and illusions that drives people in the frame.
Ha! I remember reading the book Scientology Bernd von Wittenburg about the agreement between the governments and aliens. The first part was about aliens, and the second is Scientology.

This tends to be the case for most groups looking for active ways to grow their affiliation. Avoiding tax is one sure way to speed the process and get more funds to build their agenda.

It is a dangerous cult that has more in common with fantasy games than a church and to anybody considering scientology don't it is an evil con full of lies withy the only goal of getting your money.
