Bitcoin enthusiasts suggest the use of Bitcoin in settling remittances between the U.S and Mexico after Trump’s proposal to build a wall between the two countries will have been realised.

On April 5, Billionaire real estate tycoon and Republican front runner Donald Trump unravelled his plans to compel Mexico pay US$5 to US$10 billion for the border wall between the United States and Mexico which Trump aims to build at the start of his presidency.

He's gonna trash an entire budding FinTech industry worth countless billions and related jobs just to squeeze a meager 10 billion from Mexico? 

It's easier to just get Janet to print off a few FRN's.  They used to print 6 times that amount PER MONTH when old finance tried to take down the world economy.

Trump needs to modify his position on this. The wall isn't necessary when Border agents are allowed to do their job properly, unlike currently where they are doormats. Gut entitlements for non-residents (for starters) so the productive will get their visas and take care of their families via working, while the breeder class stays home or is not incentivized to come here.

These issues like the flood from the Middle East and Africa to Europe seem to happen because the door is left open. If they knew they would be turned around or shot at
they would never attempt to make these voyages that are deadly in there own way. It sounds cold to say that but its reality that when you way the odds against one another people will decide to find something else.
The Middle East got bad because they started to except people in and word got out that they would be taking people in. It created a epidemic. The Mexican border is exactly the same issue because Obama started to talk about making illegals citizens and the race was on.

I don't know what Trump is trying to achieve with this. He wants to waste more cash on building a wall than what the remittances are worth anyways what's the point of that? His ludicrous plan will just plain suck. Are there really so many Americans who hate foreigners so much as to vote for Trump? Might be a good slight of hand and give people something to hate and be pissed off about well the economy tanks. Better to direct the issue than to become the issue,meaning give them something to fire at unless you want to be that object.

The problem with South Americans coming across the border is more of a issue of the States controlling these Countries for so long and keeping them out of prosperity. So the chickens come home to roost when the gleaming beacon of hope is the land of the free! If these Countries where helped out of their situations instead of fed corrupt politicians it would most likley not be a issue.

It's not so much about what Trump is trying to achieve, more what the establishment figures behind him want. That's right I said it, Trump's anti-establishment credentials are a charade; he's got deep ties to the establishment class in the US, and has done for a while, likely his whole life.

To me, it's a psychological thing. W Bush was the "idiot president", Obama the "aspirational president" and Trump is the "wild-man president", but all these are just semi-characters, as near enough all public speaking is scripted for US Presidents. I know Trump is genuinely shooting from the hip on stage, but let's not forget he's the real professional .

So what's the psychology behind the wall? Well, it's a political acknowledgement/manifestation of the issue that this is all leading towards: the borderless nature of the internet. There's no way that Trump is stupid enough to think this is gonna work, just remember that these campaigning politicians are playing the role of the modern-day preacher man. Anything he says that looks like he's using it to get a big crowd reaction should be looked at that way, he wants the modern day equivalent of the rapt congregation extolling "praise be" and so on.

To sum it up, not sure what the specific political card to be played is, but this proposal isn't serious. Trump knows that. It's all to do with demonstrating to the public what the 21st century really means, and presumably, how that is intended to be stopped. Or, just maybe, to demonstrate the opposite: that it can't be stopped.

I don't follow politics, don't watch television, don't listen to the radio, don't get any news.  I'm pretty much a hermit and I barely know who's running.  I do know that Donald Trump would kill this country--he's a clown candidate and I actually find it hard to believe he's running for president.  I get a sinking feeling that we're all fucked.

A border wall is just ridiculous. Sounds to me like the Great Wall of China, the Berlin wall or the DMZ between the two Koreas. In this digital era, bitcoin will trash all these physical barriers!

Think the concept of a wall will be less physical than he is stating at the end of the day. Imagine more of the wall being stronger attempt to push the border towns from being feeding valves through the border.
Once they are in the States the tracking becomes harder to gauge. I know concrete placing crews here in Canada that are all illegals. Same goes for some concrete stripping crews. They hire through word of mouth and I never see officials come through to check up on them.

I see more of a wall starting farther south in these poorer Countries working on top of dropping the failed war on drugs.

even with blocking all exchanges and banning bitcoin, people would not stop using bitcoin in secret. the only successful way to stop bitcoin is to shutdown the internet

I am not big into politics and I am not even American but today I saw on the news Trump and Hillary won big in Ney York City and I checked online and allegedly Hillary has a big lead over Trump. Is she going to win the election? I think Hillary would be a better choice than Trump in my opinion.
