This finance trend is so hot even Amazon wants in

This story was delivered to BI Intelligence "Payments Industry Insider" subscribers. To learn more and subscribe, please click here. The arrival of the age of fintech is about to shake up the financial services world as we know it. Traditional powerhouses are already trying to figure out ways to co-exist with startups that are disrupting aging models. Look no further than the rise of mobile and digital banking and the declining relevance of brick-and-mortar banks, particularly among millennials, for evidence of that fact.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I think the brick and mortar guys are going to be rather sad when places like Africa start soaring with little action for them. They're entrenched in the west. Milennials, whoever the hell they are, are using the same old banks with some glitter on top.
