Note: I know I'm a new user here, but bear with, I can provide proof of my legitimacy.

I'm the owner of the website xBTC.co (https://xbtc.co/).
xBTC.co is a 2 month old exchange which allows you to buy and sell Bitcoins directly from your Paypal account. Compared to other Paypal -> Bitcoin exchanges we are cheaper, especially for low amounts (around $10 - $30).

Due to the risk involved with Paypal we utilize multiple fraud detection algorithms, so we apologize if we preemptively block your order. If this occurs to you, please contact support to resolve this issue.

Our fees are simple and easy to understand:
  • 5% fee for buying + Paypal Fees
  • 0.05% fee for selling + Paypal Fees (sent via Paypal Personal Payment approx. 0.5% - 1%)

Benefits
  • No verification, documents or registration required.
  • Automated transactions, which are approved instantly
  • Simple and transparent pricing
  • Buy orders processed in under 15 mins
  • Sell orders processed as soon as your Bitcoin transfer hits 6 confirmations

We also offer an affiliate program where you can get paid to promote xBTC.co
  • You will receive 20% of our profits on each order
  • No registration required, we use a simple unique link
  • Payments via Paypal and Bitcoin

Just one question: how can you give 20% commission when the fee is only 5%. Is it 20% of the 5% fee?

Good luck, i hope you did your fraud checks really good, because PP is always really strict when it comes to chargebacks for BTC-related payments.

I doubt that this actually can work since paypal can have chargebacks from date of transaction to 180 days from then.
If the above member actually did this he has the risk of losing his money from paypal if the other party of the exchange initiates a chargeback.

There's a high chance that this will happen. What are your "algorithms"? Is that another word for "We-block-you-if-youre-not-verified"?

PayPal dislikes bitcoin, and so they will probably side with the scammer.

Thanks for all of your comments  Smiley

Regarding the fraud checks, yes blocking non-verified people is one of the things we do. We do make use of other services, such as MaxMind, SiftScience, FraudRecord, our own systems, and some others.

Unfortunately, I cannot go further in depth.

Hope your security features will be able to prevent paypal chargeback issue. Its wise decision to block unverified paypal making transaction in your network. Good luck.

Apologies for the lack of funds over the past few days! Sad

We have replenished the account with $4000 NZD. We have also waived the 3-day waiting period between transactions, so you can purchase again regardless of when you last purchased Smiley

We have also lowered our selling fee from 0.9% to just 0.2%

The holding period is this long due to what? The charge backs can occur from date of purchase to 180 days onwards. This does not cover you in anyway possible.

Paypal will automatically convert all currencies to NZD when you purchase. Unfortunately, we don't offer USD native transactions yet.

Thanks for your interest in this specific aspect of our company policy. Just to clear up some ambiguity, we process orders instantly, you just can't purchase again until 3 days have past.

We have put this in place from some of our own research which did provide some evidence that this is effective in reducing the rate of fraud.

Big Announcement! Major Fee Cuts
Due to popular demand, we have changed our website currency to deal in USD only. As a result, we have also switched the exchange which we use to provide Bitcoin services.

What does this mean for you?
Primarily, it means lower fees. If you have USD in your Paypal account, you will benefit greatly from this.

What are the fee changes?
Here are all of the places where the fees have changed:

Paypal Currency Conversion
As I am typing this, Paypal offers a USD to NZD rate of 1 USD to 1.41522 NZD. According to google, the real market rate is 1.47590584. Since you don't need to do this conversion any more, you will save 4.2% in currency conversion fees!

Paypal Processing Fees
While I was operating in NZD, Paypal charged me 3.9% + 0.45 NZD. Now that I have switched to USD, Paypal is charging me 3.4% + 0.3 USD. I'm passing all of these savings on to you, meaning you save another 0.5%.

Market Spread
Independent Reserve had very large spreads (difference in Buy Price and Sell Price). Right now their prices are 671 NZD (sell) and 684.99 (buy). This is a spread of 2%! Meaning if you purchased at this exchange, then sold for USD at MTV, you would lose 2% instantly. BitFinex (the new exchange) has rates of 457.38 (USD) Buy 457.28 (USD) Sell, a spread of just 0.02%. If you are depositing into MTV, you could be paying up to 1.9% less! Otherwise this should easily save you another 0.8%

Exchange Fees
Our new exchange only charges us 0.2% per transaction, instead of 0.5% which Independent Reserve charged us. This allows us to lower some of our fees. We have lowered our sell fee to just 0.05%, saving you another 0.35%.

Maximum Total Savings: 6.6% in Fees
Total Discount (relative to previous fees): up to 41%

What else has changed?
We have converted all of our affiliate balances into USD. We have used the current market rate to convert the currencies, and then we have given you an extra 15% to compensate for this conversion.

These are all estimations, but they should be pretty close to reality. I would love to hear the results of our new exchange process.

Unfortauntely, Paypal did suspend our account and we made every effort to contact customers and refund them. Can I ask if you have received a refund?
