These are great.

Many of us, when trying to change someone's mind on Bitcoin, or politics, or whatever, often make the mistake of being pushy and burying people under an avalanche of ideology.

But subtlety and humour are usually much better ways to spread an idea.

I think it will look better (and more meme like) if you used the bitcoin logo with a pinwheel background. the current image doesn't really relate to bitcoins.

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Yes, the best way to spread Bitcoin to people in finance is with photos of dweebs and losers, that will convince them to make the switch!

it's just a random guy (not related to bitcoins), and some gold coins (NOT RELATED TO BITCOINS). if you zoom in enough, you can make out the btc logo, but that's not exactly good.

It would be even better if it was a picture of some sort of physical bitcoin coin....wait....what is the current background again?

like i said, it's faintly visible, and it doesn't stand out at all. if someone looked at the image, and you asked them 30 sec later what symbol was on the coins, they would be clueless.

Rich dweebs holding assets appreciating at hundreds of percent yearly, by definition won't be perceived as losers.

Ever since Bill Gates became the world's richest person in the 90s, investors worth their salt have learned to pay attention to nerds and their ideas.

Someone seriously just brought up infowars hahahaha

I was bringing up an example of meme propagation for us Bitcoiners to perhaps follow or even improve.  The source happened to be infowars.

Two people choose to dwell on the source and take us off topic.  I wonder why.

The mere mention of Infowars elicits strong reactions from certain sheeple, typically normative Slashtards and Redditards.

It really gets under their thin skin and hurts their widdle fee-fees.   Cheesy

The mere mention of Infowars elicits strong reactions from certain sheeple, typically normative Slashtards and Redditards.

Not just them, everybody and including all of those who payed any attention to Alex Jones in the past. He makes anybody merely interested in conspiracy theories look stupid because everybody associates you with him.
And he is fearmongering about things which aren't actually conspiracies but plain bullshit.

So: No acting after infowars is a really bad idea.

Is there a link to make a meme with that particular picture? Browsed on quickmeme but ran out of attention span... I wanted to make one with "The U.S loses $190.000.000.000 per year in credit card fraud"... Better would be "The World loses..." but couldn't find that figure...

I didn't need to send identification to draw cash out of mtgox to dwolla. Did you read the terms on mtgox? You only need the ID part if want your limit raised to over $1000.

I think they changed it, I had to authenticate my account to use dwolla with Gox.

That is the point of the meme. Bitcoin doesn't need "social marketing" (whatever that is) because it is math.

I think the complaints of it feeling forced aren't so much about someone creating one as part of a marketing agenda (which is forced in itself), but that they simply aren't...well, funny.

That is very funny yet it has substance. I like how the way it speaks about bitcoin being not affected by many aspects that affects the economy. I suggest there will be more pictures rather just one. Funny pictures will do I guess. Keep om making memes like that soon youll hit the most effective portrait or image that capture your taglines.

Good work to make newbies understand the real potential of bitcoin. Also such memes will easily grab the attention of common man who were not aware about such coin's. Memes were now found to be the trend in social media, so memes were much needed for better spreading through social media.

More here.

Lol! You can also add, “sorry to skeptics”, “sorry to negative”, “go home cowards”.  Grin
