Any online organization that uses dollars needs to switch to bitcoin before the dollar crashes.

So wikipeadia was panhandling for donations today and I sent them an email about bitcoin. We shouldn't donate unless and until they accept Coins.

Linode (Hope it's not still too much of a sore point for them)!
For really big traction, Flickr would be a good candidate. Yahoo need the money and Flickr is more 'out there' than the rest of Yahoo.

What about other currency exchange sites like http://www.xe.comand http://www.transferwise.comA lot of bitcoiners already use these sites to deposit into exchanges and buy BTC. Wouldn't it be great if these sites themselves could exchange for BTC?

Which is why the Bitcoin community needs to push for XBT as a quasi-official code so that SIX standards are forced to accept it because the mainstream banking system has adopted it. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=148229.0BTC is fine for unofficial use. There is a majority which accepts the need for an X-code: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=149150.0

"Unofficial" sounds good , just my 10 satoshis.

Can we update this list? I'm trying to find a list of notable companies that accept bitcoin. I know about most of them already, but I am wondering if someone is keeping better track than me. (like a top 10 list)
