Yes, it's the most promising of the altcoins imo.  Has both governance and tech innovations

Its development is steady and fast because of built-in self-funding of devs & the RFPs. It has a democracy system "built in" with a constitution too.

And I love the ability to rebuild the whole wallet from seed... that can save your life. In the past I lost a wallet file with another altcoin and it made me go crazy.

There's a lot to love about Decred - it's also rewritten from scratch in Go so it's not just a modification of the Bitcoin code.

It just seems an all  more mature and better designed crypto-currency so "Bitcoin 2.0" doesn't sound impossible to me.

Decred need's GUI wallet soon, so non-technical people can stake easier. Also need good marketplace with decred payments and listing in bigger exchances (like poloniex) etc. These things sure make it lot more popular.

It already exists (Paymetheus) but it's currently on testnet. So it's coming very soon. But you can get in even before that, you learn a lot by using the CLI!

I've been comparing lot's of altcoins but Decred is the most fair and decentralized option imo. Ethereum is popular but it's not currency but platform for apps. I wonder if Decred won't success in long term, when developers get GUI ready and more exchances take it. Best option of course is if there will be direct  Usd<->Dcr  and Eur<->Dcr chance in future =) that would be nice.

No Decred (DCR) is not Bitcoin 2.0, from past fortnight. I have been following it. I have even purchased Decred (DCR) at a rate of 0.0045BTC but now it has fallen upto 0.0034BTC. This shows decreasing interest of people in this crypto currency and overflow of it into market. I am waiting for it to reach to 0.0050 BTC (if possible) so that I will not end up losing in my investment.

Big things wont't happen in two weeks, I think start is pretty promising without massive pump'n dump, Exchance-rate has been quite stable. I simply don't understand why people and investors would ignore one of the best implemented coins. Good start imo.

No, that doesnt show decreasing interest. It is the typical hype cycle of a young cryptocurrency. At 0.0045 it was probably a little bit overvalued, but I think it will reach this value again, at most in 2-3 months or after Bitcoin's halving hype has passed.

I see potential for Decred to enter the top 20 or even top 10 cryptocurrencies, because of its unique development and blockchain maintenance model. What I still have to research is if the PoW/PoS algorithm of Decred is really more energy-efficient than Bitcoin's PoW-only model. I think the differences are smaller that I thought because PoW is the main component of Decred's security system and PoS is used mainly for voting. (It would be fine if someone knows the answer to this question or can give me a link to a related discussion).

Why people think a GUI makes a good coin? seriously... a GUI is important, but damn... it definitely isnt that important.

For mainstream adoption it is very important, but Decred is still in its infancy. It at least has a solid foundation to build off of, and solid developers to improve it.

I think it is undervalued for the potential it has. Decred GUIs will be here shortly.

Great combination of hybrid PoW and PoS.

PoS is a bit different from others because is a lottery system where you can delegate your vote to the PoS staking pool and there's no need to keep the wallet open.

It's four and a half months later. Is the GUI available yet, or is your concept of "coming very soon" over four and a half months? A coin without a GUI is useless to anyone who isn't a programmer, and most crypto users aren't programmers.

all these show us that the time to buy decred is now, while still cheap.
if decred launch a good GUI and payment portal it will moon fast to at least 0.01~0.015.
