Auctioning serial 07 in this single thread. Auction to end tomorrow 5pm CT (10pm forum time) There are ten pieces total in this edition. All but one have sold, each to a unique owner. Series 2009, uncirculated and with sequential serial numbers. Denominated 0.23BTC

If you have already claimed one of these by winning an auction, please refrain from participating. I will not accept your bids or ship to an address twice. I want ten people to own these.

07 is the only one remaning. These will not be available again. Payment in full, or non-refundable 1BTC deposit due within one hour of auctions closing. Balance due wihin 24 hours. Payment can be made to the following address: 19GPKpbJk5JhszYJdAzQxDTWA3w13kBAvu

WATCH OUT FOR SCAMMERS, many showed up when the last auction ended. If someone asks for payment check their account status and cross-reference the address listed above.

Biding will begin @ 7BTC (due to demand and an overwhelming number of requests and generous offers)

Bid increments 0.1

Buy-It-Now is available for 7.7BTC (as long as this is allowed in the forum rules) if not I will disregard in a comment later in the thread

No sniping; the auction will end 5 minutes after the deadline is passed and no new bids are submitted. If a new bid is submitted, 5 minutes will be added.

Serial 07 ends @ 5 pm CST, April 20th. (JF 03296807) 10pm forum time (someone please correct me if this is incorrect.)

Payment: Bitcoin only.

Payment Address: 1CxD3apiQPWK7EM5Xnm9QrfKZv3FJeKHYk

Funding the piece is required, as all other have already been funded for 0.23 BTC. I will send the funding address once the item has been paid in full.

Below is the actual reply from my attorney who spent the afternoon researching for me.

Essentially, the law that regulates the defacing of US currency is in place for a specific reason and designed to punish those that have ulterior motives for the currency. Thus, the intent necessity. The key part of the statute is the intent necessity. You must deface the currency with the intent for the currency to be rendered unfit for recirculation. Glasses and a stamp does not render it unfit for circulation and you are not causing it to permanently be taken out of circulation. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that the art in question violates 18 U.S.C. 333.

I asked if he'd like one of the pieces as compensation for his time and he was delighted. I funded his for him also  Smiley

I won't be doing a similar project in the future.

"I hope people see what you're doing as an expression of art and freedom on speech." - a quote from a twitter follower this morning that I wanted to share because it's how I feel. (thank you)

Good luck to all.

Lastly, if you are interested in owning a Ricky Allan original work, I've just posted Excavatorelevator 2 to eBay with no reserve. This piece was inspired by the bitcoin blockchain.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Excavatorelevator-2-Original-Painting-Kialara-Signature-Series-001-500-bit-coin-/282008791408?hash=item41a908a970:g:OfcAAOSw7n9XFCxW

If you're interested in art as an investment, I believe his work to be a smart choice. I've purchased several of his works now myself.

I also want to mention, 50% of the funds from this auction will be donated to my little sisters giveforward campaign.

https://pages.giveforward.com/medical/page-sbgcjg4/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=fb_post_api&utm_campaign=dsp_dt3&fb_ref=Default

The rest will go towards inventory for future projects.

A few of you, some my current customers and some new, have been generous enough to make a contribution to her - some amazingly generous ones at that. I can't thank you enough. This project has and will continue to make her life easier and for that I thank you all.

Good luck with the auction!  For anyone interested this is the first chance anyone has had to own a Kialara #7, I own all of them up to this point including a prototype with the #7 that no one has ever seen.  Seeing this go really hurts but I am broke right now and the IRS wants money.  Good luck to all.

A long, long time ago, when I was ordering samples from more than a dozen suppliers, I began piecing together what would eventually become the Kialara. There are around a dozen proofs. Some are embarrassingly ugly. They are numbered AP1 - AP12 I think. Hellot purchased a bunch of Casascius coins from me that helped to fund the Kialara project. I sent him AP7 as a thank you, and he's bought the 07 serial of every item since.

If any bidding commences @ 7btc, the buy-it-now option is off the table.

just noticed this comment on reddit and liked it

doyourworkidiot 12 points 7 days ago

He took a piece of paper that represents one currency and made it represent a second currency simultaneously. It's interesting because this is the first time in history two floating currencies can occupy the same space.

It's also a snapshot of two currencies that could one day have different fates. There may come a day in the distant future where the bitcoin is worth substantially more than the dollar it's printed on.

Can someone please chime in here and let me know if it's okay to close the auction and accept the buy it now price without upsetting anyone? I've never seen a buy it now price on an auction on bitcointalk, but I don't follow these often. So unless anyone has a valid reason that i must keep the auction open, I'm closing as I have a buyer @ 7.7 btc at stated in the terms.

Your auction .... your rules ? Generally these things are left well alone, and arent interfered with by the mods. Certainly on the physical crypto auctions, I have been party to.

If any bidding commences @ 7btc, the buy-it-now option is off the table.

Highest offer you had was 6 ... so the 7.7 BIN was still in play. It seems to me that its all above board, noone appears to have grounds to object based on anything posted publicly.

Good work fella.
