As you have found good design, then you should make an agreement with him before make any change on his design since it's not a contest

I like this a little, but I need something more where the JM and ACE are equal components in the design.  I like the idea and the layout, but there is something missing.  Thank you for you submission.

Another good design; however, this design kind of signifies a specific business category of some form of gambling.  I do not want anything that would point someone into a specific business I might be involved in just by looking at my logo.  Thank you for the submission though.

In order to make anything would need to know more about what its going to be for. What type of business, what type of image you want to project etc. Without that information it's hard to make something that will work, as it determines color, font, style. Should write out a list detailing these things, in order to get something that's tailored to your business's needs and goals.
