Im wondering if nvidia or ATI sitting in their office and gathering some king of meeting.

And the topic of the meeting could be creating mining specialized GPUs.

Like this GPU will be set to mine ethereum but we will config this GPU so good that it will give like 200% more then any other home made configurations.

What if?

Was some kind of news or topics about this? Or maybe links where major guys from ATI, Nvidia talking about mining industry?

They could care less...to put things in perspective...the total hashrate of Ethereum is produced by less than 100 thousand GPUs. AMD and Nvidia combined sell millions of GPUs a year. They are just happy this is clearing a small part of their inventory before the next gen GPUs this summer Wink

Yep.

Though, during the mining craze of late 2013 AMD used mining (Casino coin I think?) as a bullet point on some of their promotional media.

Edit: Found it

it also increase the demand and thus the value for all the other gpu that are bought, so it's quite a nice addition in term of revenue for them

creating mining specialized GPUs.

- GPUs are pretty freaking great at mining already;
- Why would they focus on improved mining if we buy their normal cards anyway;
- It would cost more to R&D than what they would earn by selling it because compared to how many cards they sell, miners only buy a small fraction of that;
- Even if they would do it, it'd likely be too expensive compared to normal cards (ROI).

Not your keys, not your coins!
