i would of thought the polls would be different...

i really don't think i like "Bitcoins" because in fact their not more then 1 bitcoin.. what are you saying when you say i have 100 bitcoin!  your saying you have a part of the whole. so its incorrect to say i have 100 bitcoins!

it sounds bad too!

Bitcoin is the name of the protocol and software. The currency is one bitcoin or many bitcoins in my humble non-native English writer opinion!

"Some coin" means a lot of loot, but you don't say you have 12 coin in your pocket. I have BitcoinZZ because that's the pluralized version meaning more than one.

I use "Bitcoin" when referring to the technology. When referring amounts of the currency, it's "bitcoins" when speaking in terms of quantity (the more normal usage, to me), and "bitcoin" when speaking in terms of volume (unusual but grammatically valid) or a single 1BTC parcel.
If there is something that will make Bitcoin succeed, it is growth of utility - greater quantity and variety of goods and services offered for BTC. If there is something that will make Bitcoin fail, it is the prevalence of users convinced that BTC is a magic box that will turn them into millionaires, and of the con-artists who have followed them here to devour them.

Bitcoin = the protocol/technology.  There is no such thing as Bitcoins.

bitcoin  = a unit of value, equal to 1E8 satohis in the Bitcoin protocol.
bitcoins = plural, more than one bitcoin (i.e. 2 BTC is "two bitcoins").

I like 'coin, but it'll probably never catch on.

Any of the above might be permissible if you'd fix the problem "alot" in your poll and say "a lot" instead.  That's going to grate on me all night long! Smiley
