I agree with that. If the bitcoin price reaches $400, it will mean it is a dead coin as that is far below the mining cost.

Bitcoin is not considered as a dead on reaching or dropping at 400$ because bitcoin has a capacity to rise again. The same thing is happened in past that bitcoin is drop very low from a high price but you see that bitcoin is rise again so it is wrong to say that bitcoin is dead if it will drop to 400$.

And I don't see any reason that the price will drop to $400 or below, it might be a fall back of price this time but bitcoin will be back on track and it will rise again in the next few days. Consider the demand of bitcoins as it will give the price an increase, any fall back now is a good chance to buy and that should be what you will see if you are a true believer.

I agree with that. If the bitcoin price reaches $400, it will mean it is a dead coin as that is far below the mining cost.

The mining costs will adjust accordingly. Some miners will leave, and those which remain will get a bigger share of the mining pie due to decreased competition. If miners start leaving en masse, the difficulty will decrease over time (within a few weeks). And mining will be profitable again...

But I think $400 is simply not enough to substantially affect miners and their perseverance to continue mining

That's correct, we have already achieve a great price even the current price for this year lone. I have to say that I have earn a little profit this year buying early this year when the price is not that high, we should be contented and it is good to see when price will slowly rise as it will also slowly drop when worse thing happens.

Yeah and if you have bought bitcoins last year when price was below $300 level then you have made almost double profits even with current price, and I think even this is descent price to hold.

well, some sadful things happened I agree. but bitcoin price is not that low that you guys should be disappointed like that..
580$ isn't bad at all, and it is great time to buy more and more coins for someone who have money to invest.. . benefit  of bitcoin is not in its price and price increase. bitcoin have a lot more features and benefit.. try to earn it.

I really though that time that it would reach another all time high at a very short period of time, but still I am not that upset with the price now as it  does not decrease abruptly so there is a big chance it will rise again.

Yeah right look at the price right now its increasing again.. from 560 now the price is 575.3. It means the price is not stable.
And the price will not longer stay at low price.. sooner the price will increase more just like before..

I was thinking this way when bitcoin reach 700+ usd but then something bad happen, the hacking of an exchange and the shutting down of another one really give bitcoin a punch and now we are sitting at 550+ usd.  I hope bitcoin will recover soon and then start its uptrend again until it reach the all time peak of 1200 and beat it.

We can always see a good price in the future but this time we need to hold on and never sell your bitcoins if you intend to have a good profit.
