don't you think we're overrating it?
perhaps just $500 is pretty much doable today as there are other altcoins moving up before halving actually starts, if btc goes up so are the alts.

Last 7 days we are already up 25$-30$ And 500$ is only 50$ away now. |

you are mistaken my friend. a couple of altcoins like litecoin have a history of following bitcoin's price but that is not even guaranteed to happen. and the rest of them has never moved with bitcoin price so i don't see any reason why they should start now. |

a) Already can feel it's presence in a slow and gradual manner.
b) At most, will be around $700 even with the supply cutting into half.
c) It will settle at around $550 and that's few months after the halving with new support level.

So we all know after the halving we are all going to be rich beyond our wildest dreams But when will the slow pump start to happen due to the halving?
Is it already happening and where do you think it will go?
a) when will the pump happen?
b) how high will it go?
c) what will the price settle at?

After the halving, my bet is that all the kids holding out for 1K, 5K, Bitcoins, are going to have their hearts broken. Before the Halving, I like a top of around $850. 850 is a number that I like If it gets to that even by mid- year I will running in the streets naked!  Mark my words  |

5k usd is a bit of an overestimate... I seriously can't imagine it going that high in such a short period of time. It's basically 10x the market cap of BTC in a few months, I mean... |

the halving hype is real and it will only get bigger the closer we get to the actual halving time. and my speculation is that it will happen around summer time and the price will easily go to $1000 and it can even go higher to $2000 but that has lower possibility right now and even if the price comes back down it will settle around $600 |
Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

The pump... I think it goes up and down a lot but on a higher level than without the halving.
Price will go up to 750 I guess and settle at 350...

With the Halving in mind and assuming that the value of bitcoins is increasing steadily, I'd say the price would probably cap at $750 after the Halving and then settle down at around maybe $450 a few weeks/months after the halving because of the big bitcoin dump that will definitely happen. Pretty much the same as what happened in 2014. There was big leap of bitcoin value and then (almost) everyone started dumping and the value continuously started dropping.

Continously dropping.... but not down to levels before the last halving. We have always been way above the last pre halving value despite all ups and downs since. |

Nothing so outlandish is going to happen, there are decent arguments that the halving could have already be priced in. Seriously, don't count on a massive price increase because you'll most likely get burned. The profit taking from 2015 can smash any rally before it even begins.

Everyone is hoping that the value will rise in the halving but the chance is not that high that it will rise because the value keeps stable for a long time and that is quite bad.
I am scared that there will be a lot of people that must wait a long time until the value will be more and of course they will not like it and that is quite logic.
But it must rise a long time so many people can get much profit of it and that would be nice for them.

I would say that at least part of the halving should be already priced in. This should not be as the first halving, in which nobody knew what could happen. Now people are mostly convinced that halving will raise price, so it is very likely that many bought in advance, making the price raise already.

Price rise is gonna stall at $800 dollars sometime before the halving. Next it will probably correct to between 600-650, then if all goes well after the halving, and hash power doesnt mess with it to much, and the whales have finished clearing out the scatterred bearfish, it will moon to between 3.5k and 6.3 k
