Really looking forward to this, I guess that with so many confirmations it is pretty impossible to deny this is going to happen I wasn't convinced before, but I'm starting to get convinced now... I'll definitely be spending Bitcoins there! Now, when will this be released? I hope soon... But by it's english dictionary definition, not by Valve Time definitions

This is definitely great to hear. I did not expect it to happen so quickly though. Now, when will this be released? I hope soon... But by it's english dictionary definition, not by Valve Time definitions In the next update. It should be pretty soon as the last one was 25 days ago (31.03).

I wonder if Valve will update the Steam client with Bitcoin payment option for all their customers worldwide or they will limit it only to US customers because I have heard rumors before they have been testing it only in the USA. So I would think Valve will launch this just in the USA at first as a pilot program and then expand it to other countries. I would love to use it from Europe as soon as possible and hope Valve decides to launch it worldwide right off the bat.

It would be totally a dumb move to do because Bitcoin doesn't require a bank account or personal information's etc ... so making restrictions won't make much sense .

I think its a fantastic idea to have steam accepting Bitcoin, finally, it has been a long time and Gabe Newel was starting to look like an idiot if he didn't start accepting payments in Bitcoin. I mean even Microsoft accept Bitcoins. If you are not accepting Bitcoins already you will look like an idiot in the future because it will be clear that those that do not, didn't saw the opportunity to be a pioneer in something huge.

Great news indeed! By the way, which "external payment provider" are they going to engage? Hope it is one of the good ones which can boost the image of bitcoin.

Now, when will this be released? I hope soon... But by it's english dictionary definition, not by Valve Time definitions Maybe you should compare when will steam accept bitcoin with when will valve release HL3 That one's different and will take way longer than accepting Bitcoin, if it ever happens

I wonder if Valve will add Bitcoin to the Steam market as well. It would make sense to do so as Bitcoin is basically a digital currency so why not allow people to trade skins for it too if they are going to add a Bitcoin payment option when purchasing games. Not that we are going to be withdrawing any Bitcoin from Steam but I would be pleased to trade stuff on the Steam market with Bitcoin. I am looking forward to the launch please Valve hurry up already.

Thank you to all involved.

They aren't. It is being integrated, and the signs are pretty much everywhere right now. Let's see if it is actually going to be incorporated within the next release. Maybe you should compare when will steam accept bitcoin with when will valve release HL3 No, don't troll. Good. Looks like I will never use my credit card to buy stuff there again.
I've never even used a CC there, nor will I ever use one. The only times that I've bought games was via BTC (gift cards, humble bundle and so).

It's about damn time. I don't see why it's gonna make a pump, no other merchant stuff ever has, but it's great news all the same and bitcoin sinks a little deeper into the mainstream.

First of all, PRAISE THE LORD GABEN Finally, the thing i've waited is confirmed. Using bitcoin to buy steam games would make it cheaper for me rather than buying it with steam wallet. I hope that this is implemented all around the world, not only the USA. But by "using external payment provider" does it mean that they are using third-party?
