My own idea is buying XLM ADA EOS and NEO when their prices are low. I think they have huge potential.

I would divide this sum into three equal parts. One part I would invest in BTC, ETH and other coins from the top 20. The second part, which I would invest in promising tokens and coins on the ICO. The third part would be a reserve. For example, to buy coins in the market during a drawdown of prices and so on. My investment portfolio would consist of approximately 30-40 coins. To make it easier to monitor changes in the portfolio, you can use special sites and applications. But to create such a portfolio you need to choose and analyze coins and their projects correctly.

Invest in the top 10 market cap to reduce on the risk of loosing much in case of a market dip, research different good projects and split it among them

That's hella a lot of money mate, if you were residing in my country  Well, I think you should allocate it for bigger return. Say 50% for bitcoin and the rest for buying top 10 alt coins based on their market cap that you can easily find in coinmarketcap.com. I don't recommend the rest for buying mining rig but it requires expensive resources. |

5k€ is a good amount and if you want to invest it in crypto currencies then the best way tk get maximum output with minimum risk is, invest your money in different currencies. You can make a list of coins which are doing good in market including ethereum and bitcoin and then devide you money and then invest on them.
I will suggest you to go for NEO, EOS, ETH and BTC .

Will be better to chooce top 10 ranking in coinmarketcap because all those coins has good fundamental. And if you want to chooce 2 or 4 of them, in my opinion is BTC, ETH, NEO, XLM, ADA. All these coins try to start up trend now and its best times to get it and hold a few month or to maximize the profit, trade it by swing trading. Put that money in minimum 2 different coins to manage the risk.

i personally don't like the mining game, takes a lot of money up front. and it takes at least a couple of months to recoup something from your first investment, and then you are starting to make money. after that you are depending on what the market is doing. i would do some research on trading and investing and decide what is good for you, just always do good research.

If i were you i would invest the whole 5k in crypto because at this point mining isnt worth it. The only way it could be worth it is if crypto began to go back up and by investing in crypto right now you could cash in on the inevitable rise instead of mining to get the coins. |

The only way it could be worth it is if crypto began to go back up and by investing in crypto right now you could cash in on the inevitable rise instead of mining to get the coins. he can do that if he has another money for a daily living so he doesn't have to worry about his life. with that money, I think he can buy bitcoin and altcoin at the same time or maybe he only wants to buy bitcoin. but for mining, I don't think that it will give him quick ROI because he needs to wait 8 month - 12 months to get ROI. so maybe buying bitcoin is the option for him but he still needs to wait until the bitcoin price increase higher. |

Up to date, over 16 million bitcoins have already been mined. Taking into account that the cap is 21 million coins, they will become even more valuable when this point is reached (presumably in 2140).
So if I had $5,000 I would invest them in mining even despite the fact that this process is constantly getting more and more complicated and energy-demanding.

Doing research is necessary, it's basic so you have to work hard to come up with a good decision. As the number of ICO or coins are increasing, the risk of being scam is also bigger, but knowledge will help us make a good decision therefore do a thorough research to minimize the risk. |

Both Bitcoin and Ethereum are very good choices. After a period of decline, the current Bitcoin and Ethereum are both rising. I suggest that you can buy some Ethereum. in my opinion gambling is much more complicated and riskier than a business with crypto-currencies. Even trade allows more control and real opportunities in the crypto currency, or gambling. Of course, if you choose an investment, then they may not be very successful. |

I don't support to invest in mining. You can buy good altcoin to make profit in short time.But have some risk. If you don't want to take risk then you can invest in btc or eth.But In my opinion I suggest you to invest in bitcoin and hold for long time.I think if you invest in btc now you can make 2x profit end of this year.But one thing invest by doing own research.

I think first you need to learn a little cryptocurrency and projects that are going to invest. but I would invest half in bitcoin and the rest half in altcoins if I were you. |

Investing in BTC or ETH mean you're getting no risks ? Really my friend ? How about the situation when you bought BTC in 20k$ and right now it's 8k$ ? Is that a huge risk ? Is that a big loss ? Nothing in the crypto market is safe at all my friend , that's the basic one even you're buying the top 1 or top 2 coin in crypto due to the huge fluctuation. |
