I'm .....
If you really want the litecoin-qt - dont read more and I am done
If you would like just a stable wallet for litecoin on ubuntu / linux-distribution then try:
https://electrum-ltc.org/You are not downloading the chain, but you can configure different peers for the needed confirmations and chaindata at least.
I never tried the ltc-version, because I am addicted to bitcoin (sha256d) only.
But it looks like a clone for me - so I think it will have the same way to work like the btc version.
I am using it for my daily/small money and for the daily incomings (just create a new wallet file and you are ready with new adresses).
Why? Empty your used wallets from time to time and use some new adresses. (and big money to your cold wallet ofc)
Cheers.
Most regular users should probably be using Electrum instead of Litecoin Core, unless you want to run a full node.
Electrum-LTC is available from:
https://electrum-ltc.org/Not sure why it isn't syncing. Some sort of network connection problem?
besides litecoin, I have an ambercoin and WMcoin. in electrum also can't syncronizing to network. but why in another computer it's could?
Open the configuration @Electrum
Go to: TOOLS -> NETWORK
Deselect "Select server automatically"
Search a server out of the list, maybe with your country domain.
Mark it and press OK. Close the window.
Check if it works.
If yes, go back to tools->network and select again: Select server automatically.
You will stay connected with your selected server, but if it gets unavaible you will select a new one automatically.
Here ist the option to activate and deactivate SSL and enter some PROXY settings, too.
Anyways you will always be connected to several peers, but this is one prefered. (this is like I understand it@ Electrum)
Hopefull it will help
