Longest found block streak by a pool?

Which pool has the highest streak of finding a lot blocks in a row?

they had a big piece  of the network in spring 2013


maybe   cex.io   they were really big a while back


here is a simple   way to figure out odds..

if you have 50% of the network

0.500000 one block in a row
0.250000
0.125000
0.062500
0.031250
0.015625    so about 63 to 1 shot  6  in a row


if you have 40%

0.400000
0.160000
0.064000
0.025600
0.010240
0.004096  so about 244 to 1 shot 6 in a row

if you have 30%

0.300000
0.090000
0.027000
0.008100
0.002430
0.000729  so about 1371 to 1 shot 6 in a row


based on the math above
6 in a row has had to have happened more then once.

Thank you for your explanation, so according to the math you posted, 6 blocks in a row is quite the maximum if the pool in question has enough luck and which has also happened at least once.

I wonder if people beside me are looking out for things like this as no one yet have told they have seen more than 4 blocks in a row found by a certain pool.

depends if you mean an honest streak (using unmodified stratum/bitcoind code), or how antpool as well as f2pool/others actually manage to do it.
they basically find a block, dont announce it, continue mining on the new block, rinse and repeat. well known practice.
easily spotted with either no or very few transactions.

another 'trick' is to run what is known as a 'dead miner' on a bunch of different pools. it is essentially cgminer/bfgminer running on a stratum pool with no ASIC connected. this allows any new block hash to be retrieved far quicker than waiting for a full block to be received by your local bitcoin daemon.

once you have the latest block hash, slap it through libblktemplate and hand it to your stratum.
both methods revolve around getting a head start against the other pools.
