Enjoyed reading.
Interested to see how you explain the miners take in Part 2.

I support a decentralized & unregulatable ledger first, with safe scaling over time.

This is deep in the weeds for most people. Why not explain the benefits of a larger block size, for starters?

I have in mind the bitcoin community here who know who is who and whatnot. There is plenty out there on the merits or demerits of the changes. Plus I don't want to pick a side. I'm just trying to find out how all this went down.

Indeed, I think people most know this so I didn't want to dwell on it.

Yet it's the main "benefit" of bitcoin-xt. Is there a transaction bottleneck caused by block size on the bitcoin network?

That's a good write up. I'm not up to speed with how the take up of Classic is going. I did see a thread on reddit which said that some of the payment processors were thinking of setting up their own mining pool because they were were frustrated with the Chinese miners - would love it if you could write about that in your next article.

Cheers, can you remember anymore? Often the best details are hidden in places like reddit.
