It's very hard to say at this moment. It can be 1k but we may see bitcoin float around the 500 dollar mark for years.
Right now i feel not confident to buy honestly.

I'm hoping for the price of bitcoin to go $1,000 dollar also but it seems it won't happen before the end of year. But I'am still hoping that anything is going to happen that is good for all of us.
Bitcoin is full of surprises , expect for the best and also the worst.

Bitcoin will go up and that is definitely sure no matter what will happen, the reason behind this is bitcoin halving which will happen every specific block mined, so as long as we have halving it will make the supply more difficult to do and thus making the price of bitcoin(because a difficulty on supply will make result to a price increase).

If we give it time till 2017 then the possibility of seeing the price touch the much waited for $1000 level will be much higher. The only thing is that there must be no bad news in that time causing the price to go down. Otherwise it will take much longer for the price to hit that level. Maybe that the implementation of larger blocks will help bringing the price closer to $1000.
