the guys at BFL have all the asic devices made and ready to ship, they are running them at the lab, full tilt, just waiting until the difficulty level spikes then they can let everybody else have them after they are more or less useless.

Many might that the ASIC manufacturers are the only ones who will make real profits in this arms race. To do that they can't be caught mining with their customer's hardware.

If BFL really put all their 6k chips online we would have passed onto a new difficulty today

With BFL, perhaps the building in Kansas City is their version of Hangar 18/Area 51.

If only they would have finished their products or at least told the world about the specific details of their delay or AT LEAST block new people from pre-ordering.

That might increase the small sliver of trust that people still have for them a little.


Of course, too bad that a 150-dollar ASIC chip for broke people like me is out of the picture for now...

People waiting on BFL orders will most likely be very disappointed when they get their orders late this summer, after the big Avalon units have already hit. By that time the difficulty will very likely be so high that is would be impossible to make back their investment.

Meanwhile, I'll be riding the LTC train. Choo choo baby yeah
